On point as usual, Ulter. Hanibal, downing Xanax is one of the worst things you can do. It's a great drug...if you're a drug addict. Honestly though, there are not many disorders (inlcuding panic disorder maintenance) in which Xanax has a good use. The half life is so short (very very high addiction potential because of this) and it is also very prone to causing tachyphylaxis (basically "resistance" and the need for higher, more frequent dosings). Also, on a molecular level, Xanax and the other benzodiazepenes are basically alcohol in pill form. They are CNS depressants that activate the GABA receptors, and GABA is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter in the CNS.
So in short, using Xanax to control steroid (hormone) induced anxiety is a bad idea. I'm not guaranteeing that P7 and oxytocin will work for you, but just because xanax didn't, it means nothing as far as predicting the effectiveness of P7 and/or Oxy.
