Androgel therapy, best time to work out?

papaglock

New member
I am on Androgel because one of my chronic pain meds lowers my testosterone levels.

I am just about ready to start working out again. I used to be a very competetive Powerlifter. I dont think I will ever get back to that level of lifting again due to injury. Is there a time that I should either work out or apply the Adrogel to get the most out of the medication regarding recovery and muscle mass gain?

Thanks in advance for any opinions or ideas!

Are you sure that androgel is the best way to raise your testosterone levels?
It, like steroids, is surpressive to natural production so you'll have to use it
for life. I would personally try a run of clomid to see if that helps...but
i'm sure your doc knows more than I.

Anyway.....best time to use it is after showering. Time of day doesn't
matter an awful lot, since it is time released from what I understand.

Hey bro, I'm on cyp for HRT by the best Dr. I like cyp better. Its cheaper and have more flexibility in dosing to tune in proper ranges.

And, using test w/low dose HCG keeps test levels fairly level. So, it doesnt matter when you wo

I will mention that to him. As for using it for life, that is not totally true. My T production will resume once I am off of Androgel and the medication that is lowering production.

Thanks for your reply.

Using androgel is like taking a cycle of steroids - it shuts down natural production of testosterone. Your T will return, but maybe not to normal levels...there is no guarantee when you're fucking with hormones

Correct. When showering, make sure you exfoliate the area you will be applying to get the max. transdermal absorbtion.

Yeah, thats kind of scary. I really have no choice since my baseline level was 130! It is supposed to between something like 300-750? I dont know how low 130 is relatively. I do know that if I dont put it on for more than 1 day, my attitude and mood go right down the toilet!

Re: Androgel therapy, best time to work out?NEW

Thanks to everyone for replying!

It seems like my testicles have gotten smaller? If my T level was low before treatment, and now is right in middle of the "acceptable" range, why would my testicles be smaller? I had heard that there is a drug that I can take that would bring my testicles back to thier original size? Any ideas?

Thanks again. Having this low T explains a lot to my surgeon as to why I have never really healed correctly.
