Var will likely aid in your MMA progress, though the pumps you experience while training on it may temporarily hinder your abilities.
But var only is never a good idea IMHO. Six weeks of var only, at a worthwhile dose, will shut you down pretty hard for minimal gains.
I've done a few var only cycles for cutting purposes, and I always felt terrible by the end of the 4th week.
Add in 250mg Test-e per week and you have a worthwhile foray into AAS.
