I don't want anything from my kids, other than to spend time with them. I do, but, my boys are ages 16, 16, and my brother is here for a few days, who is 16.

not many 16 year olds want to hang with their moms, even if they are as fun as me.

so before, I picked up 1 from his friend's house. we came home and he said thanks for the ride, then asked if i wanted a cappuccino. I thought he was asking me for some, but then he said, "no, i'll make it."

then the other son came in and asked if i wanted to watch a movie with him later. I didn't even answer, because I though he was talking to someone else.

so now i'm like, feeling all warm and loved, and my brother put his arm around me, which he rarely does.

wtf. I asked them if i was dying of cancer and nobody told me, and they laughed so i guess not.

do you let your dog lick your toes in front of them?

Awwww! That's sweet.....

Reminds me of that commercial where the guy gets his mom what she really wants for Christmas - him @ the dinner table in a suit.....

OH MY GAWD.

my brother - i don't really know why because i've never looked into it, but he's never full. like, i don't think he has the "I'm full" setting in his brain. Luckily, he has the metabolism of a marathon runner, because he's also rather thin.

nomatter how much food i give him, he just eats it without stopping. Then he looks at me and smiles and says, "that was good". it's so sweet that i just want to go out and get him more food. lol.
(he doesn't talk much- he's autistic)

My 14 y/o (my Nini) told me the other day (happily) that she had found what she wants to do with the rest of her life. She said, "Mami I want to be an artist! I don't care what ANYONE says!" She had apparently been positively influenced by her art teacher (praise the heavens). So I said to her, "So, I guess I haven't been lying to you all these years when I told you how talented you were?"

Her response? "LOL I guess not."

*Lots of other positive chat*

Then she told me. "Mami, I also decided that I want to live close to you when I can leave here and take care of you when you are old."

So I laughed (even though I was so touched by her sentiment) and told her that I am no where near "that old" and dont intend to get that way anytime soon but if all goes as planned I will be able to retire by the time she is old enough to enroll in art school and what would she think if I enrolled in school WITH her?"

Was a wonderful conversation... at least now I know that she has something to live for until we can be together.

Children are a gift, Madame Stilleto... are they not? :)
