Ok, I have been pondering this for a while now. Just how many calories do you burn while sleeping? To frame my question, take this example/question:
suppose your basal metabolic rate is 2000 calories (200 lbs x 10) and by 11 p.m. you have only eaten 1500 calories, would you be able to eat a 500 calorie meal 1 hour before bed and still be in good shape for fat loss? (supposing you eat under your TDEE instead of your BMR to lose fat)
If the answer is yes, then that means your body is still burning a good bit of calories per hour just by being alive. If the answer is false, then obviously one would have to ponder how the basal metabolism works.
