AS I SAID, WHOEVER IT HAPPENS TO, I FEEL BAD FOR THE VICTIMS AND THE FAMILIES. BUT GUARDS HERE IS IMPLYING THAT IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED TO CANADIANS AND BY AMERICANS.

Kayne some of the 4 dead and 8 injured were peoples I knew!

and they were not mistaken by the ennemy
they were on a training range during a night fire exercise, Air control and ground control knew exactly where they were, plus they refused the pilot to drop the 500lbs bomb, but it look like they droped it anyway (misfunction or bypass order???? who knows).

very tragic.

i have two questions:

1) in all the white house conferences today, why was this incident/condolences not mentioned/offered?

2) has this been reported yet in the american media at all?

Yes

and

Yes

i was on base when this happened and this is what we were told

the canadians were on a range firing tracer rounds which were bouncing off things and making the americans think it was enemy, the yanks ask to drop the bomb and were denied but i guess the pilot felt threaten anyway

and one more thing why the fuck would someone use a 500lb bomb on suspected humans and why would a plane be so low to see that anyway

cause he was a dumb mutherfucker.

Al Queada and Taliban does not have tracers :(

another thing that makes me hate fly boy from the National Guard.

The tracers flew right away in the sky but not at the atitude threathening them.

who knows

today I heard they were "painted" by troop on the ground
EWWWWWWWWWWW

:bawling:

While this is a tragedy, these kinds of things happen during war.
My heart goes out to the troops killed and wounded, and their families.

AS I SAID BEFORE, I FEEL VERY BAD FOR THEM.

YES, THEY WERE ON A TRAINING EXERCISE BUT THE U.S. AIRFORCE DID NOT KNOW THAT. THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE BEING FIRED UPON. AT FIRST THEY REQUESTED PERMISSION TO FIRE ON THEM WHICH WAS DENIED. THEN THEY REQUESTED PERMISSION TO MARK THE TARGET WHICH WAS GRANTED. THEY MARKED THE TARGET WITHOUT DROPPING THE BOMB. HOWEVER, THEY WERE OPERATING UNDER "RULES OF ENGAGEMENT" WHICH STATES THAT THEY CAN FIRE IF FIRED UPON!!! THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE BEING FIRED UPON B/C THEY DID NOT KNOW THE CANADIANS WERE ENGAGED IN A TRAINING EXERCISE IN THAT AREA!!! AND THE SECOND PLANE (THE ONE THAT DROPPED THE BOMB) THOUGHT THE FIRST WAS BEING FIRED UPON SO HE DID WHAT HE WAS TAUGHT TO DO AND HAS TRAINED TO DO!!!
