I've been prescribed every drug on the market. Not even g puts me out. I am a text book case Insomniac. Ambien made me feel real weird, and then pig out. If it works for you guys, more power to ya. I'll be watching re-runs on nick at night.

dude wake up 6am every morning and run 7 miles...you'll sleep like a baby

the only way i sleep is if i get up early and run 4-7 miles

ambien good... but i wake up 4 hours later.. i like sonata.

SONATA DOESNT DO IT FOR ME. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I TOOK AMBIEN. I HAVE A TRANQUALIZER IF I REALLY NEED TO KNOCK MYSELF OUT BUT I HAVE BEEN SLEEPING BAD FOR SO LONG, I USUALLY JUST WING IT UNLESS I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO GO TO SLEEP.

I sleep like shit...every school semester I say I'mgoing to start goingto bed earlier...but every night I find myself watching TV for hours and then I only get 4 hours of sleep.

Flex, try watching a video that you've seen a million times before. Nothing too exciting of course. It can become comforting, kinda like an old favorite bedtime story. Put it in every night and if you're still awake when it's over, just play it again. This usually works for my husband.

puddles thanks for the advice but...this happens every night if I watch the same movie every night of my life I will just have to end it all.

I was thinking maybe a bottle of scotch and taking a slug every night or something.

I have bad sleeping habits also..I always need to change were I sleep I move from my couch or my bed but either way I'm still up watching TV:(

FLEX....DAMN, 4 HOURS!!! THATS ABOUT 2 MORE THAN I GET ON SCHOOL NIGHTS. MY MIND STARTS RACING WHEN I HIT THE BED. I AM UNDER MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF SCRESS DAILY SO IT HAS BEEN AFFECTING MY SLEEP FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS.

whatver shit is keeping you awake throughout the night - take care of it immediately and you'll sleep better

THE ISSUES I DEAL WITH ARE INCESSANT. NO WAY TO JUST TAKE CARE OF IT IMMEDIATELY. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT MINUTE SHIT.

JETISIN
I GET SLEEP BUT ITS USUALLY DURING THE DAY. I USUALLY ONLY FALL ASLEEP IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING JUST BEFORE DAYLIGHT. ON SCHOOL DAYS I STRUGGLE ALL DAY. HIGH SCRESS LEVELS MAKE IT HARD TO GET REAL SLEEP. WHEN I DO FALL ASLEEP, I WAKE UP WITH BAD DREAMS MOST OF THE TIME. BASICALLY, IT SUCKS.

I hate needing sleep. I fall asleep at around 6am, so my work/school is pretty much fucked unless i learn to live with sleep deprivation or change my schedule. Its interefering with my ability to work & go to school.

i've tried sleeping 'normally', what happens is i fall asleep at 2-3am, wake up at 7am, and feel realllly tired around noon for some reason. My bodys circidan rhythm goes in cycles. Right now i'm sleeping from 6am-3pm, but a month ago it was 10pm-6am. a month before that it was 2pm-11pm. I should see a doctor.

Yes..

It was "Remember the Titans" for a while, now "Spiderman" for me. It's more encouraging for me to close my eyes when watching something I've seen before.. It's harder when watching something new to me...

I don't expect this to be a popular remedy..

Any excuse to consume a mind altering compound seems to dominate.

I like Scent of a Woman and As Good As It Gets to fall asleep to. Gotta keep the volume fairly low. I turn the movie on, watch for a few minutes, then turn my face away from the screen, cuddle up around my body pillow, and close my eyes. This works for me about half of the time.

I think I'm nocturnal but with life as it is, I can't follow my instincts. Ever since I was a kid it was difficult for me to fall asleep at a "normal" hour. Now I usually fall out between 1 and 2, then the alarm's going off at 7 and it's ok. I'm up later about 2 nights a week, but this I can deal with! There is one exception...if I'm on the sofa watching a movie earlier in the evening....say around 9pm, then I will fall asleep. But then I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep for an hour or more.
