Put your strength to the test!

For the log lift, we have removed the rule that you have to hold onto the log with one hand, since each rep is from the ground up, we thought it would make it more difficult with our rule set so we made the change. Thanks!

I made an error on the form, we are going to have a tire flip for the novice class and masters class. The tire we are looking at for novice and masters is around 500 and the tire for open should be 700 or more. We still need to weigh the stones, and we will have that at least two months before the contest. I will post it here when we get that information.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. We are running our contest with proceeds benefiting our Youth Strength Program, and to maximize the money we can put towards the kids, we are looking for a sponsor to help us pay for some of the equipment we purchased. It can be any business or any organization. Here is a letter with some of the details and benefits we wanted to offer. If you have any suggestions or can pass this along, it will be sincerely appreciated!

Thanks much

Sounds like a great program.

i wish the YMCA in my area put on something like that. But they are too concerned about people making noise while lifting heavy and raising their prices.

Seriously just start hitting up local businesses, restaurants, and gyms. The first contest I ever did the husafell carry was sponsored by a mexican restaurant so it was painted with their logo and became the chili pepper carry. Just do some ground work in the community and hopefully people will help out.

Best of wishes with the contest, if I were closer I would think about competing.

Cheers,
Scotsman

The YMCA in wilmerding, pa Allegheny county just double billed me... Also they allow punks to lurk in the weight area not lifting any weights taking up space, sitting on equipment but not using, etc...

These 2 combined and im done with them.

I would like to get an early count of how many of you all are attending. If you can, please shoot me a name and general location and it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Joe

Sounds like a fun contest! Wish I was around to play with a few things!

How are things looking for sponsors?

Alan at APT has been known to help contests which feature his companies straps.

The weight of the Husafell Stone is 260 pounds, and will be used for all classes, including Novice, open, and masters. Sorry that took so long to get weighed!!!

Side notes,

We will have a local chiropractor cracking for free that day, trying to get more people in the community interested, but it will be nice for the strongmen to be readjusted at the end of the day after carrying the Husafell stone, log lift, etc.

Free supplement drinks are being donated from American Body Building (ABB) for the contest. We should also be selling some tasty food that day as well.

Gosh...if beer were involved somehow it might just be the perfect Strongman Contest!!!!

YMCA, chiropractor, cool events, supplement drinks, food....
