Bush spoke to reporters on the morning after his extraordinary five-hour inaugural meeting with Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, in which the president heard Arab criticism of his handling of the Israeli-Palestinian crisis.

"I told the crown prince that we've got a unique relationship with Israel and that one thing that the world can count on is that we will not allow Israel to be crushed," Bush said.

Good call Natch, I was referring just to the Army. I give kudos to fighter/bomber pilots, as well as the USMC. It would just be nice if the US Army started focusing on fighting wars again. You see, somewhere along the line, the Army decided that it wasn't their job to fight wars. Rather, they decided to become a gigantic trade school whose primary function is to provide opportunities for women. The US Army is a technical college. Sad state of affairs.

Are you prior service? I was an Army Ranger for a few years and I agree...most of the way.

I don't blame the dudes who enlist. They're signing up for something they are promised. Whether they are promised a ruck and a rifle, or a trombone case is irrelevant.

The real blame lies with senior leadership, who are more concerned with public image than winning the war.
