If you're taking AS, then daily alcohol consumption is not suggested. Anything past 1 glass of wine, I don't suggest :coffee:

I have a few drinks (1) day/week - but when I saw a few, I mean 3 or 4 beers as a cheat/vaca from the rest of the HELL week

i think if your really serious about working out, you will want to lay off the booze. i mean one or two on sunday is cool but to go and binge drink. no ... i know that if i am good all week strict diet, good w/o's all week and then i blow it on the weekend i feel all is lost for my efforts during the week

Well anything diet related thats a toxic going into your body when your trying to improve it, obviously isn't good, is it gonna kill ya every once in a while no. But so many people go out all the time drinking everyday or 4 times a week. Its not gonna help you with your goals. And if your on AAS then its just putting added toxins to you liver and kidney's while AAS is already very toxic itself. I'll admit i still drink from time to time, not like i used to. I used to drink just about every single day for almost 2 yrs. and my body started to look like it. I cut out the booze and now drink maybe once every two weeks and just a few drinks and you can tell an obvious difference.

If you absolutely must drink, I recommend what he does. I'd rather see you toss back a few drinks one night a week than drink 1-2 drinks every night.

Get that nasty alcohol in and out of your system as quickly as possible. I've never been a big fan of booze and it's extra calories, not to mention it affecting my workout negatively the following day.

Personally I don't know one person with an awesome physique that drinks regularly.

I mean, alcohol puts stress on your liver, and even more so what your taking AS. Also, it has a negative impact on protein synthesis, which means your body won't be converting proteing as quickly to get to your muscles, which is vital for growing.

alcohol is not reccomended.
there are studies that indicate that 18g or less of alcohol (one low alcohol beverage) per day may have some benefits (however more than that has mainly negative effects)

if you plan on drinking:

hydration- should be obvious, alcohol is a diuretic. Hydrate before, during and after- WATER preferably.

Sesapure- increases metabolism of aldehyde (the main toxic metabolite of alcohol), also protects liver. take before and after.

Paul Millet drinks like a fish and looks pretty damn good. I think a lot of bobybuilders drink heavy. I'll try to find some pics of him and post them.

It is proven that alcohol lowers Test levels in your body. Ever meet a drunk guy with super small shoulder frame. Or how about an over weight drunk, yeah cotisol levels up and Test down is not a good combo bro. I personally drink maybe 3 times a year, and its not to get drunk its to relax with the right people.

I'm not saying they don't party like rock stars at times, but I highly doubt they put away the same amount of booze as your raging alcoholic in any given week. Also, when I say great physique I'm talking about national caliber BB competitors, not some Men's Fitness Magazine photo shoot reject. ;)

Your right but only when it is abused. One or two drinks a day is actually good for you. Countless studies on this topic, more positive than negative.

When I am on I don't drink EVER, when I am off once a week I might have a mixed drink or 2.

Have you considered huffing paint as a lower calorie alternative buzz? I hear cutting yourself up with a razor blade is a trendy way to party these days as well. I feel old cuz neither of these things sound remotely fun to me.

Alcohol will inhibit your gains, slow your metabolic rate and lead you to eat pizza at 3am. Cutting my drinking has helped tremendously; however, we all must live. Everything in moderation.

1 - 1.5 glasses of wine per night with dinner is all I will allow myself. I steer clear of beer especially when im on gear... hey that rhymed. Go me. :chomp: :chomp: :chomp:

I could have sworn that I've seen a study posted that shows that even a tiny amount of Blood Alcohol Level reduces GH, FSH, and other hormones to extremely low levels. Operating under that assumption for years, additionally the long high insulin response is a problem. Mac, X? I'll try to dig up the article...
The short of it was there is no possibility of muscle growth at all if ANY alcohol is present in the system. :coffee:

Well, I havent done any research on the subject. But i do know that I have at least 1 glass of red wine a night... every single night.

In the last 18 weeks I've put on 30+ pounds. Im currently in week 10 of a Test520/Deca500 stack.

So I believe that would discredit the statement that there is "no possibility of muscle growth at all if ANY alcohol is present".

I think 1-2 drinks a night would not be too hard a stress on your liver (provided you are NOT on any 17-alkylated orals). In fact, it may do some good in reversing the adverse lipid effects AAS cause. Look at all the recent red wine studies. However, becoming FUBAR'd would offer nothing but bad news.

Another thing to consider is the people that you surround yourself that live this party lifestyle. They aren't exactly a positive influence on you achieving your fitness goals. I recently saw pics of guys I graduated from high school with and I couldn't recognize even one of them because they all fat frumpy bald old farts. Yet I still bang chicks around their daughter's age w/o a problem. Also 20 yrs ago I didn't have to worry about my dick falling off or catching the HIV if I was drunk and banged a slut w/o a condom. Condoms were for birth control only, not life preservers like they are now. Looking back I'm amazed I survived countless trips driving home wasted. Many people that drink aren't so lucky and wind up dying themselves or killing someone and ending up in the pokey on manslaughter charges.

Quiltie-you are awesome! I would like to add that ethanol also interferes with DNA binding and transcription-activating properties that cause protein synthesis. However, these studies primarily documented slow growth due to diminished GH release using alcoholics as its test population. I would think the same effect wouldn't necessarily be seen in relatively healthy BB's. (They wouldn't let me give you any more K) Can anyone give this guy some K for doing some good research?

all the research that indicates positive effects from alcohol consumption, also indicate that more than 1 drink per day (over 18g of alcohol) has negative impacts.

as a note- none of these studies have been done in steroid users, however many of the negative impacts of higher consumption will likely be elevated in this sub group.

Excellent point bro

alcohol is posion to your body period. We should die from it by law but we dont at low levels..So if your drink the body will be to busy to trying to remove it then building muscle its a proven fact....Not saying that a lite social drink on your days off will hurt you because it wont! being one to three drinks or so.......My opinion...

my last drink was on valentines day and it wasnt even a full drink jus a sip of wine. i will not drink on a cycle period.
