The last couple of weeks my knee got all messed up I have tendonitis in my right knee. Took some time off from squatting and been icing and doing execises for it. I did light squats on monday and then sprints yesterday and it hurts like a bitch again today. I started taking some ibuprofen, any other good remedies??

flax/fish oils
good all joints

i think some have had success with glucosimine, i have not used it personally though

I would recommend avoiding squats all together for a while. Work some squat presses W/ Machine in as well as some other excercises using light weight to keep the muscle strong but avoid heavy compound movements for a while. Also, keep the Ibuprofin up as well as the ice. You might want to try some aspercream or some similar local ointment to help with inflamation and pain.

Try to limit the sprints and anything intense on the knees. If you keep punishing them they will not heal. I injure myself all the time in my chosen sport and I often have to take alternate approaches to excercise to work around an injury. Just be patient man and give your body time to heal. If not you will continue to injure yourself over and over again.

This probably does not help but these are just some ideas. Injuries take time. As far as I know that is the only cure.

two words....box squats.

in high school i would free squat almost exclusively, my knees hurt all the time. when i switched to only box squatting in my training, i was able to lean better form, i.e. sitting back, pushing knees out, arching more. and my knees stopped hurting. the combo of sitting back and squatting of the box took away so much stress from the knees.

also you got to make sure your hamstring strength is excellent. i used to have big strong quads, and ver average hamstrings, back when my knees always hurt. then i started focusing more on hamstring deveopment, and that helps tremendously as well. now i have big strong quads, and big strong hamstrings, and virtually no knee pain compared to what it used to be.

Yeah LB, I recently discovered a beat up prehistoric ghr machine on the second floor of my gym, and I fell in love with it. If it was a woman...well, we'll just leave it at that... ;)
