Ahh....some shoulder relief w/o deca

I've seen many posts on here regarding the use of deca to ease joint pain and although it has never helped me it has apparently offered some temporary relief for some. My shoulders have bothered me for years, I've had 3-4 cortizone shots in each one, been to rehab and had MRIs. Fortunetely there were no tears in the joints but there was inflammation and arthiritis, etc. The Surgeon told me that the shoulders are not weight bearing joints and that years of stress on them causes wear and tear. There wasn't much to do about it but work around it unless I wanted surgery to shave some of the bone in hopes that that would help. No thank you! I'm 41 years old and first picked up the weights around 13. I guess it's catching up to me....
So a couple of months ago I walked in to the local discount nutrition store and was looking for something to ease the discomfort in my shoulders when the store clerk offered me a product to try. Shes around 78 years old and said that she has arthirits and has tried everything but the thing that finally made a difference for her was a supplement that combined:

Hyaluronic Acid
Glucosamine
Chondroitin

I know these products are nothing new but I haven't seen hyaluronic acid before...I've seen the other 2 or even with MSM. Anyway, I tried it and after 4-6 weeks noticed a tremendous difference! The price of this particular product was actually a lot less than the other ones so I know she wasn't just trying to make a sale.
It's not breaking news but I wanted to share with EF because it's been a big relief for me and maybe it will help someone else out. Besides, I haven't posted for a while ;)

bump..is is a single product?

not that I know of
you can get glucosamine and chondroiton in one at Wal-Mart
been taking these for a couple years now, although I havent tried Hyaluronic Acid.
Glucosamine and Chondroiton fixed my lower back pains years ago when on m1t

Yes, together all in one convenient capsule! I paid around $18 for a bottle of 60 and take 2 every morning.

I bought mine at a local nutrition store. It's a white bottle with light blue lettering and it's made by Vitaplus. I did a search on the web and found a lot of other brands though, and at comparable prices. One even had MSM included in the mixture.

the shoulder surgury you described is really not that bad. i just had it done. but if you can find relief elsewhere, good for ya

Can you tell me more about it? What's your age and how long was your recovery? I'd continue to take this supplement anyway but I'd like to hear from someone that's actually had the surgery.

Do some more research on Hyaluronic Acid... oral supplementation will offer very minimal relief at best... HA injections are thought to be slightly more effective, but they can be a pain (literally)....frequent multiple injections are required at the site.... glucosamine / chondroitin has a much better track record... only drawback is that you have to take it for several months before you start seeing any benefits and then you have to take it indefinitely...

Deca only provides temporary relief....stop the deca and the pain always comes back

Aflutop has worked for me in between cycles in relieving a good amount of joint pain

yea,
the cut a bone spur off the bottom of my acromian, and cut the end of my clavicle off. where the clavical and acromian (AC joint) meet, there is supposed to be nice smooth cartilage on each side. turns out the cartilage on my clavical was almost gone. so doc cut the end of it off, so i can not touch the acromian anymore. that is why i was having so much pain, the raw bone on the end of my clavicle was rubbing against acromian.

it was about 2 or 3 months ago. and i am back in the gym going light, which is fine b/c it gives me a chance to cut bf.

This surgury is much easier and faster recovery then if they have to repair cartilage or rotator cuff. Previously i have my labrium, in the same shoulder repaired, and the recovery was almost a year.

i not saying to do it, use it as your last option. i did. PT and cortisone injections only provided temp relief, so my only option was to have another surgury. and too many cortisone inj can be very bad for the joint

Thanks for the reply. All I know is that it's made a difference for me, on the advice of an elderly woman who's tried it all. By the way nj.....lookin' thick in your avatar.

How long did you take the Aflutops for?

I am on them now, for knee tendon pain.

Have you used Cissus? If so did you rate it?

I did one, 21-day cycle... it's suggested that if one doesn't work, do 2 back-to-back.... that should do the trick for most people

And let's not forget the jello users.....

I dunno how effective that is, there is only one study funded by Nabisco (which makes Knox Gelatin) that makes claims that it helps joint pain... I know Radar used to recommend it all the time.... I just started taking it a week ago with my shakes... figured it couldn't hurt
