Age of consent question...

Ok, in my state the incoming government has recently foreshadowed changes to age of consent laws regarding homosexual relationships to bring them into line with heterosexual relationships, this has led to some vigorous and sometimes heated debate amongst some people.

What do you think the age of consent for sexual relationships should be - for couples in general, should it be different for gay couples? What about older men and younger women, should it differ to older women and younger men?

If a 20yr old man has sex with a 16yr old girl, is that ok or is that child abuse?
What about if the man is 45 yrs old?

What about if a 50yr old woman has sex with a 16 year old boy? Any different?

What age should we/you draw the line? Should it be different for gay men or lesbian women?

Some countries allow a much younger age of consent, IE 14,13 or even 12 (in Holland I think, correct me if I am wrong) Is that sick or just liberal?

At what age should young people be able to engage in sex legally with adults? Aren't adults who have sex with teenagers paedophiles (spelling?)?

i think it does matter, 20 yr old with a 16 yr old aint that bad but a 50yr old with a 16yr old is just wrong!!
THere should be 5 years of age max between the couple. like a 16yr old and a 21yr old, looks good to me.

Thsi could get real complicated real quick.
We have a friend (female) who is very happy married to a man 20 years her senior. They have a child and have been married around 8 years so far. Their kid is younger than his grandkids from a previous marriage. But are they unhealthy? No.

Regardless, the law should apply equally for straights, gays, whomever.
