As long as you are over 18, do it man. I did for while I was going to University and for 2 years after that. Then got tired of it, as well as the assault charges :)

I've been Bouncing off and on since 1986 and as of lately 2yrs straight. In the State of Connecticut where I work they dont call us "Bouncers", they call us " Ambassadors of Good Will". Pretty funny. Depending on where you are from I would check to see if they have any laws on the books regarding Bouncers, as far as age etc. I would say a good age is when you can deal with annoying drunken assholes that want to push your buttons.

ya i mean i'm 30 now so i was thinking i'd be able to handle myself better now and not want to just clock the annoying drunk guy who is pushing my buttons.. how does one go about getting into bouncing? just show up at a club/bar and ask one of the guys? or?

I am 34 I stopped this last year. I had had assault charges filed against me by two well known people in the community who were in their 50's. I never touched them let alone raised my voice. They were just pissed I didn't back down.
It took six months before the charges were dropped.
For me its not worth the aggrevation any more.
I have been shot at, had people try to stab me, been jumped by five guys etc.
I also was able to have sex with a ton of really hot women.
Its a personal decision. Figure out what your priorities are in your life then decide!

Go for it, your old enough. I had just turned 19 when I became a bouncer, its a fun job at that age. A lot of places are constantly looking for bouncers, so just show up one night and ask around.

bro if you want some extra money get into porn.

I enjoyed bouncing because I'm an observer of people anyway......actually going to clubs never really did it for me. But don't get it into just to start fights........I worked with a couple guys like that, and low and behold they eventually overstep, get seen doing it by patrons.....and bam, charges. I bounced in a strip club.....so there was some extra duty there, like escorting dancers out to their cars. THAT is where you need to watch your shit. An ASP is a nice thing to have. Also, you better know how to fight in close quarters. If you're the kind of guy that likes to dance around, get in get out quick kind of deal....nothing wrong with that for fighting......but in a club it don't work like that. That's why big fat guys do well as bouncers, they can move large piles of people and guys cant' dance around them so well in a club. Know how to fight on the ground too. Honestly though.......if you're a cool laid back dude, you'll hardly ever get into shit. Too many guys escalate "on a dime". Be cool, act like you're talking to a bro.......they'll respond to that. You'll know the guys who want to throw no matter what........so just have backup, and never talk to anyone with your hands behind your back, have your arms folded in front of you so they can be up to block in no time....it's a neutral stance, neither threatening nor passive.
