Advice for starting my first cycle

I've done some reading of this and a couple of other BB forums, and whilst they're all pretty clear about their stance on not starting a cycle if you haven't been training for a minimum if 2 years, I'm pretty sure there are guys out there who have not heeded this advice and still come out with some pretty impressive results.

So I'm hoping that, despite this general stance, Ill be able to get some decent advice on where to start.

I'm 31yo, 180cm tall and was 98kgs just over 3 months ago. I've managed to drop my weight to 77kgs in 3 months thanks to a radical change in diet and the assistance of some Duromine to give me that little extra kick.

I've also started training 3 days a week with a PT, 2 days doing upper body and 1 day doing legs. I also train on a 4th day every other week without my PT where I usually do upper body. Ive been in this routine for just over a month now.

I want to get an extra boost to help me on my way and have been considering doing a cycle.

I'm looking for advice/guidance/do's & don'ts/what to do etc from anyone who can offer it. I'm not interested in endless replies telling me not to start a cycle because I haven't been training long enough - like I said I know this is the general rule.

Thanks in advance all.

at 5 11 and 179 pounds I'm just not sure what AAS is gonna do for you. you probably will gain on a cycle but you will lose it all after will no base and 3 months of knowledge of how to workout.

what are your goals exactly? what were you doing from 18-31 before you started working out? also duromine is an appetite suppressent, what are you gonna do when you stop taking that? the problem i see is that you are gonna set yourself up as too dependent on drugs to reach your goals, and thats just not sustainable unless you plan on being on AAS and duromine forever

i know its not what you want to hear but i am just trying to save you dissapointment.. read the countless threads of guys who cannot gain with steroids on here. its sooo true. a buddy of mine ran a deca cycle.. he smokes, he drinks, he is in bad shape. the only thing he does right is drink a lot of water and his diet is halfway decent.. he had some nice gains on that cycle.. then afterwards he quit going to the gym, no motivation. he lost everything.. so he decides to run yet another cycle before he even was recovered from the first.. same thing.. he gained on cycle then blew it all away after. and now his sex drive is shot to hell.

Thanks for the reply stevesmi. I only did a 1 month course of Duromine to help me get my eating patterns under control. I finished that course 2 months ago. My diet is regular and healthy after doing a lot of work with a dietician/PT.

My goal is to gain lean muscle mass. I intend to continue working with my PT for at least the next 6 months, increasing to 4x1 hour sessions a week with him.

Like you, I want this to be a lifestyle, rather than a sport.

In answer to your question about what I was doing from 18-31... Just stuffing about, poor diet, a lot of energy into my career and not a lot into being healthy and happy, hence the lifestyle change.

I'm the type of person that is driven by results, I also get bored easily, so I need to see a quick short term gain in order to continue long term.. Hence the Duro quick start and now the want to do a cycle.

I also don't want my sex life to be shot... Hence the reason I'm asking for advice.... Basically ive made up my mind that I want to kick start with a cycle, it's now just a matter of making sure I go into it with as much good advice and knowledge that I can get so I don't end up like your mate...

If you just want to do a cycle to get it out of your system , do this..

Use a mild compound.

Do just a 4 week cycle.

Get some N2GUARD

prepare your PCT

You won't make massive gains but you'll get a feel of what it's like. In the end, there are no short cuts. Steroids, ENHANCE the muscle building process. They don't do it alone. The work is still up to you. And that means ALL the time , not just when you're on.

Good luck.

Cheers Nelson. I'm not looking to make massive gains straight up. But enough to notice. I'm prepared to put in the hard work. Since I've dropped my weight and started my PT sessions I've felt like a different person. I feel really sluggish on the days I don't train.

What do you suggest I start with? Doses etc etc.

good job man. keep it up. also you will notice it becomes easier to bag women when you look and feel good. women dig confidence.

nelson is right above. a conservative short cycle will give you a feel of things and you minimize screwing up your sex drive as you put it.

i would keep at it. eventually you can get rid of your PT and work on your own. this board has a lot of great info.. i would read some of the threads on first cycles and such. some of the logs etc. then you will be able to answer all your questions on your own. the weightlifting forum gives you great ideas on splits.. you eventually want to be hitting the gym 4-5X per week. right now I am going 6X per week.. 90 minutes per day. so push for that.

Cheers guys. I appreciate the pointers :) I'll keep reading and will no doubt be back with some more questions before I make any decisions hehe
