adopting a dog from a shelter?

Anyone has any experience with this? We were looking at few Pit Bulls between the ages of 8 months - 2 years. Some people have not even called me back about the dogs I was interested in. If I go at one of the pets supply stores where they show them to people, would I be able to get a dog faster?

Is it worth adopting one? I just feel bad, I dont want them put to sleep. And I dont want a baby, I kinda want a dog thats already house trained. But I dont know how older dogs would accept children of 2 and 5

what about a German Shephard?

They're smart, good looking, good watchdogs, and you dont have to worry about them going psycho like with pits

I had a few GS's growing up, and they were all great dogs

They had some mixes of them, none that really looked like a german sheppard . Otherwise, I would

Thats what I'm sayin - humane society, shelter.....they usually take the dogs to stores like PETCO, so people that wanna adopt would be able to see them. I wouldnt go to a breeder. There is a lot of doggies that need help

I think all you need to do is chuck a rat in the microwave and put a collar on it.
