...and I have to get slicks! Went up in torqure and horsepower but 1/4 time down because I couldn't get any traction even in third going to 4th. Lost a whole second on average even though top speed was greater. I should be in the 12's and was running 14. Stock I was at 13.76. So, before I do any more mods I have to go purchase slicks to appreciate the full effect of the horsepower/torque increases.

I'm bummed!

04 COBRA. The suspension is good up to about 600 hp. I am at 430. You can get slicks in soft or hard depending on your type of suspension. Slicks for my car are running about 200-250 a piece (for et drags with rims) If I get et streets I will spend about 150 for the tires and have them mounted on my current rims. I may try this as they are supposed to be almost as good as drags, just dot approved.

Thing is I need to launch at about 3000-3500 rpm and the tires even with et streets may not be wide enough. So, I have to do some more research.

600hp? you put a blower and a nos kit on it or something? i was gonna say me and my buddies just spun Nittos on our ponies, we had about 100hp over stock (around 325hp)in my 89 and his 93, and we could drop it around 3500rpms and take off like jets..

have you ran yours yet? you should't have trouble getting mid to low 12's with 600hp

yeah. it's already really fast though at 430. I buffed up my camry a little bit i think it was 135 stock. Now its at around 180. Still really weak but with no cash that's the best i could do.

Stock the cobra's put out 390 hp 390 ft-lbs of torque. I just got my Nitto extreme drag tires 275/40/17's and they work great. I also ordered VHT for the next time I go out. Should pull in the 12's. 600hp and I will be in the 11's for sure.

I may have to get a line lock in order to do a proper burnout to heat the tires up. We'll see this friday.

Yes, the car comes with a supercharger at 8 psi and I have a pulley on it now so I peak at 14 psi. May change that out and go to 16-18 psi with a new intercooler.

I have video of last night in car and out, but my performance sucked due to no traction. Once I get the edited video from my friend I'll post.

Ever think about swapping your IRS for a live axle? Better for launching. That and rear lower control arms.

Yeah, thinking about it, but it is rather expensive and I shouldn't need it unless I go above 600 and use all out slicks. But we shall see. Just getting back into racing after 20 years.

my V6 stang is just around 200hp I'd like to add a turbocharger, replace underdrive pulleys and rear gears but the turbo is fucking expensive.
