MCD was a bodyguard for hire in Hollywood, and did bit parts prior to Armageddon. Bruce Willis helped him land his role in Green Mile after they worked on Armageddon together. MCD took up acting in Chicago as a teen, when his mother wouldn't let him play HS football according to the IMDB.
