acne

I just read on another thread that acne is caused by dht...that's why it's a common side effect of steroid use...we all know about test---> DHT.

Is it true that acne is caused by the conversion of testosterone to dht? It just doesn't seem right to me because if that's what causes it, it can EASILY be controlled by a little finasteride...right?

if the science backs it up i wont argue, but as for me, im covered in acne naturally. my brother as well, and hes never even seen a gym in his life let alone a steroid. while it does have to do with dht and the body's increased production of sebum from the sebaceous glands, i think it has to do more with ones suceptability to that increase in oil. i.e. i am much more prone that the average joe to an increase in oil production than say someone who has never had acne in his life. my cousin on the other hand could rub a stick of butter on his face every day for a year and never get a pimple.

I never get acne either...I'm just curious. It seems like such a simple cure to a major side of steroid use. It can't be that easy, so I'm just looking for someone to give me a argument against it.

finasteride does control acne, and is a great addition into test cycles however it does not agree with deca all that well since the very mechanism that converts test into dht also activates nonedralone

ALSO finasteride will not inhibit conversion of test into dht passed a sertain dose, that depends on onces genetics but its safe to assume test doses of up to and including a gram/week are ok to run.

its assumed that the discusion is geared towards STEROID-INDUCED acne, in other words guys who are clear when clean and only breakout when geared up. if you are naturally predesposed to acne then its not just your dht, it can be a combo of numerous reasons............................Accutane is the cure for ALL of those reasons

So what you're saying is...if you're not acne prone, then all you have to do is take finasteride while on test and that should keep the acne off?

I'm naturally predisposed to acne on my face ONLY! Accutane was the only thing that cleared me up. I did my first cycle a little less than a year after finishing a course of accutane and post-cycle my face broke out bad again...and still is...! My doc won't give me accutane again as she said it is too soon. About to run another cycle and I'm hoping this minocycline and erythromycin shit can keep it under control. Pantothenic Acid 10g per day keeps the body clear and dry but does nothing for my face...

Well...many say if you take Liquidex/arimidex post cycle with clomid therapy it really helps with the acne. Its definitely what I'm gonna do.
