acne problems

my acne on my face has always bothered me.. went to the dermatoligist like twice and they prescribed dynacin and benza clin the latest time i went.. it didnt really help.. is their something that really makes the acne and scars go away.. Also i have pretty oily skin too.

I had acne growing up and was prescribed Retin -A and all that - never really did much. Regular washing w/ a good cleanser - I've used Neutrogena for a long time, and also try loading some Vitamin B-5 (pantothenic acid) - its just an OTC B vitamin you can get at any health food store. Load a couple pills / day for a few days and see if you notice a difference. Won't do anything for existing scars but seems to help tremendously for me w/ ongoing acne.

For some, even topical rx products won't do jack. The only "cure" (and I use this term sarcastically) is Accutane, which has to be precribed by a physician, typically a dermatologist.

It works---but it has nasty side effects. Google it, and you'll get a plethora of websites with loads of information (and misinformation!). If you really are serious, I'd talk to your derm or family doc.

I went on two cycles, and had great results---but had bad side effects thesecond time around, and had to stop early. In all honesty, I didn't NEED to go on it, but I was getting pissed that I was in my late 20's, and still breaking out.

Currently, what I find that works best for me is Clinique bar soap, and 5 percent benzol peroxide for minor breakouts.

what side affects did u get from accutane .. yea the tropical products have done some but id like to takke it to the next step

Like I said, Google it, and you'll find out more than you need to know.

I had the typical common side effects, and during my second cycle I just figured it wasn't worth the hassle and stopped.

Talk to your derm.

never do accutane, no matter how bad your acne is.......... I would look into doing a colon cleanse.

it works

You're talking out of your ass again, Maverick. Your colon has nothing to do with the condition of your skin. Tree huggers may disagree, but then again, they spend their time hugging trees and blowing out their colons. Even pantothenic acid has more merrit in helping acne than sitting on a toilet.

While I agree Accutane should only be a last resort, for some, it's the only resort.

I always had the same problem but I switched from clearasil to natures cure pills and cream package and that has helped alot. it might work for you. the pills are about $9 for 30days so it is worth a shot.
