Accutane....

LVTitan said:
i knew you would pipe in soon krishna !!
as for the guy that stated carmex... that is a big no no... carmex made it worse.. the best stuff out there (it's expensive though) is neosporin lip remedy comes in a tube, but it's magical for this..
the sun sensitivity is there, but not an extremem factor. note: do not get tatooed while you are on it, your skin is more sensitive and it will hurt very bad !!
also, try not to get cuts or scrapes, because even small ones will scar while you are using accutane

not true man, you ever been to Arizona? Especially in the winter time. Carmex worked like a charm, you just have to apply it a lot.

yo krish...what was your experience like? we're looking to hear both ends bro. do share.

Look, the stuff WILL get rid of your acne while you're on it. Supposedly, some people only have to do it once and there acne is gone for good (I've never personally witnessed any of these cases). I took it 3 times under a doctor's care. Towards the end of the second cycle, I started noticing changes in vision and mood. After the third cycle, I went to an eye doctor who confirmed that I have degenerative damage in my right eye which he attributes to the accutane. I manage to do alright in the mood department because I take St John's Wort daily. I have found ways to get rid of my acne that are safer and more natural. I've actually improved my acne permamently IMO, which is something accutane never did. It always came back after I was off, and I felt shittier and shittier each time I took it. If you're only taking it once, I'd say go ahead, but I also recommend taking healthier approaches concurrently while on the accutane to try to get a more permanent solution.

interesting, its not as bad this time, but its certainly there on my back.

In fact I have a pimple in my ear right now and its the most painful thing ever.

Maybe I'll hold off on the second run with accutane and try tanning to see what it does.

I forgot to mention that roche is getting sued because of accutane. I'm actually apart of a class action lawsuit. I probably won't get shit out of it, but you never know. If I end up going blind in my right eye, I'll sue them myself.

wow...1st off...thanks for the info krish.

2nd...sorry to hear about the shit this drug has put you through. hope it all turns out OK bro. the eye is nothing to fuck with. i almost lost mine when i was 13. best of luck bro!

I don't get acne on my face, but do break out on my back. What works for me is having my gf dab full-strength DMSO on every zit. It'll itch a bit and make your breath smell funny but the pimples are usually gone within 2 days. The bro with the zit in his ear would do well to try it. Whatever you do, DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUR FACE...trust me :p Not saying that it'll work for you, but that's how things went down for me. Luck to all.

80mg/day for 5 months after getting nasty back-acne from a test-dbol cycle. The chapped lips can be remedied easily with Vaseline -- just be prepared to use a lot of it. Slight dryness of the eyes, but other than that, no sides. The acne cleared up completely within 3 months.

i used accutane 6 times in my life.

i'm 34 now, still have some zits here and there, but nothing compared to the sausage-pepperoni pizza-face I used to be.

Issues - dry skin and dry lips - you have no idea. Everyone just takes this for granted. YOU WILL BE FUCKED. Get a whole lot of moisurizer (yeah, i know, oily skin, right? WRONG. accutane fucking nukes your oil glands) and a whole lot of lip balm. If you walk anywhere without the lip balm, you're screwed. If you live in a dry climate, your feet and hands will be jacked.

I had a bit of issues with depression and mood while I was on. Horrible on energy, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE joint pain (never used steroids) while on. Might want to consider doing some higher-repetition training.

My eyes are horribly sensitive to light ever since I used accutane as well.

I liked that it got rid of my horrible cystic acne (granted, took 6 uses), but I still have zit problems at age 34, as well as fucked up joints.

tread lightly. for some people, it is a magic bullet. for others, it's just a bullet.

Excellent post. I was also on accutane 3 times under a doctor's close supervision. It ruined my life for a long time. I had really bad acne before taking it and I swear it made it worst in many ways. I would like to know what my acne would have been like if I never would have taken accutane. I've been on every antibiotic under the sun and am still on the one and only medication that ever really worked for my skin. I would highly recomend looking into it. Most people know nothing about it and few doctors perscribe it. It is called BACTRIM also known as SEPTRA. You should definitely try this out before getting on the accutane train. Good luck my friend.
