Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below I have a new Compaq Notbook and the screen got cracked on it 3 weeks after it was purchased. My wifes company gave it to her for a Christmas gift. I was curious since it was still basicly new if we could purchase an HP Accident plan now and turn in a claim for repair a week or two later and get away with it?

Depends on where you bought it from. If it's from a local electronics super store and they offer a good replacement plan, then I'd go out and buy it right now.
I'm pretty sure that most big electronic stores allow you to purchase a replacement/service plan 30days MAX after buying the product.
You'll need the receipt or a last name and they can look it up in the system.
Good luck... make sure to read the fine prints before getting a replacement plan for many obvious reasons.. GL
