About the outage earlier today

I sincerely apologize for the interruption in service today.

Some of our key servers are located in Vancouver Canada in order to provide you with additional privacy and security protection.

Unfortunately, a large circuit fire has caused severe power outages in Vancouver's downtown business district, leaving more than 4,500 businesses without power. Street lights were down, shops were closed, and some were reportedly trapped in elevators in buildings without power.

Our servers are fine and were not impacted - we just did not have the power needed to run them. Please note that all of your postings and emails are just fine too. Currently our site is being powered by a back-up diesel generator until power is restored throughout Vancouver.

I apologize for any inconvenience that this incident caused you. We will be working with our data center to determine why the back-up generator failed to work from the start and how that can be prevented going forward.

I agree - we spend a fortune for thir services and it should have cut over to the generator with no downtime.

My location doesn't work in regards to the your privacy needs, but we offer 99.999 uptime for all P's even during CAT5 Hurricanes.. Nothing but the hallway lights flicker when we switch over to diesel.. We flop over and run it for a full day once a week.

I hate my job, pretty cool place in regards to technology.. Heh..
