ab training and bulking

i read somewhere that it is bad to train abs while bulking because it doe something with your CNS. any truth in this? i wish i could find the article, but i forgot where i read this. opinions people. lets hear them.

I've never heard anything like that. I can't imagine any reason to eliminate any excercise based on whether you are bulking or cutting.

Bulking usually means heavier weights, compound movements, and very intense workouts. All of these call for a very strong core/ab region. When bulking, I would say that you need to hit your core/ab region harder than normal.

I have read this too, but I think it really stem more from the fact that when bulking your bodyfat is higher therfore working abs is a lost cause as far as being able to see them.

wether you can see them or not, you still ned to work them to balance the strength of your lower back, and for stability strength. Helps your posture and any lower back problems

ahh that's the difference between bodybuilders and athletes. BB only think about looks and never care about muscles they can't see until something hurts :)

I never said they shouldn't be worked, I simply stated where I think this theory came from.
