Recipe For Perfection :
50% Diet
25% Training
25% Rest
10% AAS Supplementation
yeah... you got to give 110%

what about genetics and dont ya think diet is more then 50%?

Sadly, diet is not even 50% for most on this board.

It is nothing to go in the gym and stimulate a muscle. Most people fail at growing the muscle which is directly a result of your nutrition.

Genetics are nothing but a crutch. The people with the best genetics are often the laziest. The people with the worst genetics are the hardest workers. It should be the other way around.

Genetics are anything but a crutch slim..........

Depending on what you want to accomplish in the gym, genetics can be your biggest hurdle, or greatest champion.

Most anyone can whip their body into shape, but few can achieve the look that bodybuilders aspire to, hence the significance of genetics. :)

See Dial-Tones response.

How many times have we heard "oh... I am a hard gainer..." or "my chest is genetically small" or something along those lines. Chances are that it is NOT due to genetics. It is because the person has not taken time to discover what works for him or instead paying due attention to his diet - which is 24/7.

Hell, if Kenny Jones can get big, anyone can.

But yet, the people with the greatest genetics - Flex, Dillet, Mike Christian, Porter, etc.. simply squander theirs with half ass training and chemical dependency.

All other things being equal, superior genetics will win out every single time... that's all I was saying. But let's be serious, we're comparing bodybuilders, who have that trump card already. Tigger's question, I believe was directed at the layperson, not the Cormier's and Cutler's.

LOL @ the Kenny Jones comment.

i'll go out on a limb and suggest that both pitbull and AAP have valid points. i doubt y'all really disagree, it's just that different things are pertinent in different circumstances.

by the way, your recipe is definitely missing:

25% straight-up, hardcore flexing in the gym mirror
10% curls in the rack
15% imaginary lat syndrome (believe to achieve nugga)
20% shadow-boxing in the gym corner (karate kicks are a bonus)
10% proper attire (cut-off jean shorts, construction boots, fanny packs, wife-beaters, under-armour, fag pants, etc...)

I am fully convinced that my next 15 lbs of muscle is going to be elusive unless I :

Get gold hoop earrings.
Get some lame tribal or superman tattoo.
Shave my head.

I already got the fanny pack and the workout clothes from Jane Fondas yard sale.

If you can`t do it at all... Use SYNTHOL... is my motto.

BBF should have some input on this.

True

What should be the easiest, rest and eating, is the hardest thing for me to stay disciplined doing.

BBF doesn't have any more of that input. he injected it all.

and tiger88, even though genetics are important to the overall result, you can't do anything about your genetics (as of now).

all the ingreidents in AAP's recipe have this in common: they are things you can actually do. things you have control over.
