A Strongman Passed...

b fold the truth

Elite Strongman
Platinum
Last night Johnny Perry passed away in his sleep of cardiac arrest. He had just made plans to be here to train with me on December 14th.

Johnny was 6'6", 375 and placed 4th at the World's Strongest Man a couple of months ago...

Keep him and his family in your prayers.

HOLY SHIT, i saw this dude at the the nightlclub i go to called the longbranch about 4 weeks ago. i used to date his ex girlfriend. ive talked to him before, kinda cocky but seemed like a nice guy. he grew up in nc and went to a highschool near me. he straight up told me he used to take lots of steriods. in his words "lots of steroids". my ex said the same thing. he told me he ate something like 8000 calories or more a day or 10,000 can quite remember. he told me he did somthing like a 600+ pound bench press. i believe his stats you posted are wrong he was more like 6-3 to 6'5 because i seemed taller than him his weight was probably about right, the guy had the biggest biceps ive ever seen in person, he wasnt cut up just really big. he was really popular in raleigh. may the man rest in peace.

That's really sad.

I just met Johnny at the NC strongest man competition last saturday. He ate dinner at Applebee's at the table next to me that night.

very sad

This is very sad news.There always seemed to be some sort of contreversial kind of talk about Johnny,but aside from all of that he seemed like a great representative for Americas strongman competitors.I only had the opportunity to see him in person once,and he was definitely huge.He will truely be missed

Wow. . . how old was he?

I have never met him, nor even heard of him, but from what people said on this thread he is someone to be remembered

wow, that really sucks. i saw him on tv all the time. i dont know much about cardiac arrest. was he too big?

Not much is known right now about it...

He had just turned 30 a couple days ago...

A few will war...
fighting the good fight;
some with stones, other with steel
but our goal is the same:
to move the immovable.

When fighting we fall...
as the largest fell;
a massive oak hewn down in spring.
His strength is ours now
and because we think of him...

we may move the immovable.

was he from the carolinas?

North Carolina...one of the best. Heck...he was one of the best in the world and was one of the nicest humans to walk the planet.

Maybe God puts the biggest hearts in those who will be here the shortest period of time.

I remeber seeing him on the WSM a while back - potential seemed limitless
