A SAD WEEK FOR NY FIREFIGHTERS (very long but please read)

A slap in the face to all firefighters, I just read on firehouse.com that there are two muslim firefighters employed by the Metro-Dade fire department in Florida, that are refusing to ride any fire engine that has an American flag on it!!! WTF!!!!

I try not to be racist, but this shit really pisses me off!! I'd like to go down there, kick em square in the nuts, then drag their sorry camel fuckin asses to NYC, and let the bad ass brothers of the FDNY put these mofo's in their proper place!!!!

Great thread Flexed1, hope your health is doing ok these days.

I have always admired the figherfighters, ambulance drivers and even though I have gotten into a few rows with em over the years, police officers as well. If any of us could just imagine not only what they go thru on a day to day basis but the kind of shit they put up with from lots of people it would maybe make us think how lucky we are that there are people out there ready to protect and serve us and they are not the enemy.

As I have said before, I really hope that this whole situation does not just become some tragedy that we mark every year and that it does become a wake up call for our generation of people 18-40 who forget the true values and work ethic that our parents and grandparents had because of the shit that happened back in their day that we up until this point never experienced and were desensitized to.

Our current society has taken for granted the freedoms countries like yours and mine and a few others have, we really have.The best way we can all honor those who died and gave their lives in this destruction last week is to forge ahead and do whatever it takes to make us the best we can be.To be our own heroes by helping ourselves and others and not fear the unknown.

I have friends hare that are fire fighters and all I can say is it takes a special kind of person to lay their lives on the line every day. May God Bless these special people and may He Bless those in their time of such a great loss!

I admire all of the rescue workers, firefighters, medical folks, volunteers, and everyone else that is involved in this.

flex -- Again I am moved when I read the sacrifices and bravery of these men and women. We are truly blessed to have these people who are ready to run into virtual deathtraps to work their rescue magic. My heart and funds go out to those brave souls and their loved ones in this tragedy.

rough times... if i were christian i would definitely turn to god... but i have not been a believer for a long time now and feel that to turn now is to turn on myself in some way..

basically what i am saying is i would pray for all the firefighters if i prayed.. i dont... so i just keep them in my thoughts and hope for the best possible outcome...
