Ranger's Words:

What greater sacrafice can we make, to so unselfishly give the ultimate so that, though we may perish, others may live by our deeds alone.

To lay our very soul on the great American altar of freedom, without concern for ourselves, so that others may thrive under the very roof of freedom, and security that is given....

We all to often forget each day that those around us, when faced with the right to choose the ultimate sacrafice....though they may be weak of body, the very soul knows not the bounderies of strength....

How can we in some small way pay just homage to such great deeds??

My thoughts are this.....Simply put, NEVER FORGET!!!

The next time you walk into Wal-Mart with your GF on your arm, you may see a WW2 veteran in a wheelchair taking loose change and giving those silly red flowers we toss in the trash can once we're outa sight....Next time, shake his hand, thank him....and take that ugly red flower and put it on top of your protein can, each time you better your body, look at that flower and better your soul as well.....

Angels Without Wings

Our Nation is in mourning,
They say she'll never heal.
Terror in the skies still vivid,
But this Country does not yield.

Soulful sounds of Bagpipes,
Flags half-mast across the land.
Sobs echo from a lonely wife,
And a child too young to understand.

In far away, hostile lands,
They dance at our Country's fall.
While these Angels without Wings,
Are now names engraved on walls.

America could not realize,
The terror they watched throughout the night.
And the Hero's who never questioned,
The evil they were willing to fight.

Just the very thought,
Brought a tear to the Nations eye.
At home, Mother's and loved ones,
Pulled together...Prayed and cried.

These Angels without Wings,
Among the rubble in eternal sleep.
This Nation shall never forget them,
And together we continue to weep.

From the Police Stations and Firehouses,
Across the killing skies of time.
In muddied boots they rushed to help,
Our friends...Yours and mine.

We shall hear their laughter no longer,
These brave souls have passed away.
And the world is somewhat poorer,
For a part of our Nation died today.

Yes, these are our Hero's,
Who lived their life with strife.
They served this Country and fellow man,
And yet sacraficed their life.

This Nation begins it's healing,
From the ruins of this horrible scene.
But, let us not forget these Hero's,
These Angels without Wings.

And now they stand before our God,
Down here the Church Bells ring.
I know our God is smiling,
For our Angels earned their Wings.

God Bless America...

My heart goes out to everyone who has lost their lives in this tragedy and to the men and women who have helped with the rescue efforts..

I don't know what else to say except, "Thank you." It does not seem like much, barely enough.

I can't conceive of the loss to those families that are now without their beloved husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, daughters and sons, aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces and cherished friends. My heart goes out to all of you.

Yes, you are truly remarkable. To willingly risk your lives for the safety of total strangers - I am speechless. I don't know what else to say, except, "THANK YOU."

I've never seen anybody with the guts these guys had, running into a burning building while everyone else is running out. I only hope God would give all of us the strength to do the same. And my condolences and thanks to all the heros and their loved ones.

Found this picture on MSN this morning. It's a newly promoted Fire Chief. It seems to personify what the former chief left behind and the great responsibility of the shoes that now must be filled.

My heart goes out to all of those who lost loved ones in such a tragedy. I shed tears even though I do not know them personally. I wish all of our lives had such purpose as those who gave their lives without a second thought to save the life of a stranger. The Bible says that there is no greater love than if a man gives his life for his brother.

I have NEVER, EVER, EVER, been so proud of my fellow man...these fire and policemen...my god, true heroes, the families of these men deserve much compensation, and I hope an appropriate memorial will be built for these men. I am ashamed to say that I don't know if I would be as brave as they. Rushing into the flames to save stranger's lives....and knowing full well that the chances were good they would lose their own...shit brings a fuckin tear to my eye....
