A Question about Post-Workout Carbs

Is it mandatory to take em'? I'm kinda in a dilema cuz' I'm cutting and I wanna avoid any carbs after 2-3 p.m., but I workout at about 9 p.m. Any advise?
 
well on a strict fat loss regimen...i'd say screw the carbs especially late at night and just take in a bunch of protein. but if your intent is to add any muscle or strength here, i would add in like 25-50 grams of sugar with your protein immedieately after the w/o, as it should not adversly affect you since you had just worked out and you should store it as glycogen replenishment.
 
if you take in just protein after a workout and your body needs carbs wont it convert the protein into carbs via glucogenesis (sp?) or something like that..

i would take the carbs regardless.. use some ala if you are real worried

or instead of a shake eat low gi carbs with some chicken
 
I would at least intake some carbs it won't hurt your no-carb diet, you need some carbs for your muscles, especially after a grueling workout. Just my 2 cents
