What red wines do you enjoy that are moderately priced ?

I love Italian and Cali reds. German whites though (Reislings and Eisweins) can't be beat though when the come from the Rhine-Hessen region!

Flowers Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2001, its around $80/bottle.

I find that its much harder to find a good, inexpensive red than it is a white. IMO, you can get one of the best pinot grigio's on the market for $17.00

Its easy to find a great red over 60 bucks
Its harder to find a great red for 40 to 60 bucks
Its even harder to find a great red from 25 to 40 bucks
You are a rock star if you find a great red under 25 bucks <- that is the challenge I like . I view it as a challenge too. I can afford the more expensive bottles, but that is almost like saying "I can only find good wine if I spend a lot of $$$".

Try looking towards Argentenia for some very nice and cheap wines. I have had expensive wines that i was unimpressed with, and cheaper wines that blew my socks off.

Oh and spain has some nice ones out as well.

I was into australian wines for a while, but now it's all about the south american. I am generally unhappy with french wines, and italian ones can be hit or miss.

LOL-I have a gay neighbor that I buy from all the time. A $50.00 bottle cost me about 10 bucks. Worth putting up with his supreme gayness for. Oh, he's ok.
