When doing a 5X5 routine should i keep the weight the same or increase it?
I am going to start doing 5X5 Incline Bench W/ DBs and i am not sure if i should up the weight, keep it the same, or do drop sets.
Later Ben

It's tough to do 5X5 with db's, unless your dumbells go up in 2.5 increments. The point of 5x5 is to up your weight by 2.5 pounds for your main exercise each week. I think 5 pounds a week would be too big of a jump

not the best idea to use dbells because your ioncreasing the weight by 10 lbs each week and youll plateau quicker..5x5 is not about drop sets..pick a weight say 100 lb dbells and do 5 sets of 5 reps after warming up of course..next week you will use the 105lb dbells and do 5 sets of 5 reps..and so on....

Shit, I meant 2.5 on each side of the bar, not total. So if you press 135lb, the next week you would press 140lb (2.5 on each side). Anything to remember, you want to start below what you usually do. If you start too heavy, you'll plateau way too fast. You want to consistently add weight each week, while getting 5 reps for 5 sets. As far as warmups, just warmup whatever muscle group you are using with a light weight.
