I was on week 2 of the bill starr/glen pendlay 5x5. Week 3 is where you are back to your maxes. I think i lost some strength when... I dont know maybe i wasn't as strong as i thought I was... anyway I fucked up after week 2 and couldn't amke it to the gym, its been about 5 days. Im thinking about just lifting somewhere in between (#'s) those two weeks. Will I mess the prgoram up too bad in doing this? Also, where can i find adjusttable dumbbells that will go up to 100#'s plus? what about adjustable kettlebells? Thanks much dudes and dedettes this site is awesome. -Spaz-

Redo week 2.

I do 5x5s and an Ed Coan Progressive Workout for power. The Coan is a six day program so it's hard to get to the gym that much with everything else that goes on in life. I alternate after 8-12 weeks (depends on how I feel and if I hit my numbers) with a hypertrophy style workout so as to not over tax my system.

It's common to overestimate your weights when you start the 5x5 program. If you find yourself missing weights then test yourself to get accurate numbers then reset program. Make sure you use perfect form and full ROM. Don't cheat yourself.

Start again and rethink whether you should be running the Dual Factor version.

I suspect that you'd progress faster running the Intermediate version. It's also somewhat more forgiving of laxity in gym attendence.

Careful, don't go cheap on the adjustable dumbbells. You will end up having to pay for them multiple times since you do get what you pay for.

I was doing some Farmers' Walks the other day with two plates on each end of two DBs. I ended up with a huge bruise on each forearm as the plates bashed me on each step. Next time I'll have to put some smaller plates on the inside to move the 20Kg ones outwards.

Adjustable kettlebells are TRASH. Either use a rack of the real thing...which could be pricey....or get POWERBLOCKS....they are much better.
