5X5: Deload to go

I thought I put in a quick update on my progress so far with Madcow's 5X5. I just finished the load phase and started week 5 today. So far so good. I've managed to follow my original loading plan and have been even able to ratchet it up a little.

I have found this workout much more difficult than I thought it would be. Wednesdays have been particularly difficult and the last Wed was hell (deadlift is relatively new exercise for me). Despite the mounting fatigue, I've been able to add 10lbs to my bench, 25 to my squat, and 25 to my deadlift. I've provided a link to my journal which is posted on another site for the particulars:

Looking forward to piling on the poundage during the intensity phase. Thanks to Madcow and all who contributed for the supply of excellent information.

Cool, glad you are enjoying it.

I read your journal and it looks solid. There are a lot fewer questions now so I'm guessing the material is pretty comprehensive and adequate at this point.

BTW I PM'd that guy Butters to try to help him out (he posted in your journal). This program is inappropriate for a novice and anytime I see a diet chart anywhere near as impressive as this one (http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25251) and hear complaints about not gaining weight, I can be almost totally certain I have a lean person who doesn't eat enough to provide caloric excess and is gaining neither fat nor muscle because they are trying to eat right at the margin and their baseline calc is off for their metabolism and activity level. It's always the young guys who bust their ass at their diets. Sometimes I think the nutrition obsession in BBIng is a curse for some of these people.
