Hey bra - would you post your daily diet ritual and your stats....seems like you are a EFA fanatic and I'm just curious as to what you eat....I've always gone HIGH protein, Moderate Carbs, and LOW fat....but I may change......could you post you intake along with times, etc.? Much karma bra -
 
My current diet, average day.
-5 ibs of ground turkey, not the lean stuff, but I do cook on my george forman grill.
-romaine lettace, enough to fill about 3/4 of a gallon jug. I make salids with this and my turkey. SOmetimes I dice cucumbers or broccolli on it
-salid dressing, low carb, olive oil based.
-one scoop of why isolate, post workout, with 2 tbs of flaxseed oil. On days I do cardio I drink another shake after my cardio.
-3 g fish oil in the morning, 3 more before bed

Some days I cut out 2-3 ibs of the turkey and eat an entire jar of natural peanut butter or a several cups of macadmia nutts or walnutts. I carb up once a week. It might last 1 day, or up to 2 depending on how I feel.

Stats in my avatar (haven't taken any measurements since I took those pictures, however I am up 16 ibs)

5'9" 200 ibs
Chest 50.5"
thighs 28"
waist 32"
arms 17.5" (have probably gained an inch since then, people have commented that my chest and arms look a lot bigger)
calves 18"

-Bench 455 X3 (had to stop benching due to reoccuring injury, now doing strictly machine work for chest)
-Squat 505X5
-Deadlift 615 X1 (with wraps though)
Incuded lifts for those who are interested, although I'm a bodybuilder not a powerlifter/strongman

Actually, I've learned to enjoy the foods I eat, even though they are quite bland my normal standards. Welcome to the world of bodybuilding. I was over 30% bf when I started training 3 1/2 years ago, so for me eating clean is a requirement. During my first bulking cycle I hit 20% bf again, 12 weeks after doing my first show (calipered 4% one week out). Junk food bulking is not an option for me. I'm not genetical cut out for it, especially when I'm so conscious of my appearance and body fat level.
 
What do you eat before doing cardio? Welcome to the life of bodybuilding??? Cmon bra- I'm about 6% and enjoy "some" variety.....oats, steak, stir fry....fish, chx, peanuts......yams w/ splenda and fake butter....myoplex....milk......you aren't getting paid, don't treat it as such....just my 2ccs......

Although the jar of peanut butter sounds awesome.......I'd puke 1/2 way through though......
 
Jkurz, I don't eat the entire jar in one sitting. I snack on it all day. Before cardio? Turkey salid or peanut butter. LoL

Oh, carb up days aren't so clean. I might make some clean food with brown rice or whole wheat pasta, but sometimes I'll hit the pizza and ice cream when I really need a cheat day.
 
Ya, not everyone can eat with a shovel and not gain bf.
I was around 20% bf after a VERY sloppy diet my first year training seriously, and I didn't know as much about diet or correct training.

I'm not being quite as extreme as BBF, but I can definately see the necessity for it. I'm allowing a little more freedom, (potatos, rice, etc.) even some cheating on saturdays. If the BF gain is still too much though I may have to do something similar.

Think of it this way: The less bf you gain, the shorter your cutting cycle has to be.

Awsome dedication to keep that diet man. Hats off to ya!

Oh yea, I was going to ask a question.

BBF do you ever switch up the meat type to chicken or ground beef or just stick with the turkey?

Also, about how many calories are you taking in daily?

Sometimes beef or even chicken (can add more fat as needed via olive oil or flax), but they both get old fast. I get free beef off and on from my dad (he owns a ranch). The turkey doesn't seem to get boring nearly as fast though, plus I can get it very cheap. I'm on a budget and in school full time right now.
 
I'm on about 4000 cals a day right now, slowly increasing. Doing a clean bulk. I've gone as high as 5000 for 3 months straight without gaining any bf. Actually, a couple people thought I looked leaner.
 
You love the fats bro! More power to ya...wasn't slammin you in by any means.....to each his own......me? I'm scared to death to lose my 6-pack........crazy ass phobia...... 6-packbrainjunctous.....damn I wanna bulk!
 
I'm bulking right now on low carbs. I'm not gaining any bf. SO why not bulk?
 
I don't cheat on low carb days, no. On my carbups sometimes I do eat junk food. Pizza is kind of a weakness for me, so I have it about once every two weeks.
 
pounds baby, pounds.......I don't agree with his eating style (personally I think carbs, fats and protein are all essential) But who am I? It works for him! You gotta do what works best for your machine.......I'm only 150-200carbs/day, but it's still the energy I need for cardio and Iron..........
 
totally agree JKurz, if it's working for someione then kudos!
i find 150g-200g carbs works well for me too but i know ppl who have 300+g carbs and some who have < 50g and still getting their goals :)

JKurz and BFA, I've got to agree with you guys there. If something seems to work very well for you, don't change it until it stops working, or you are absolutely convinced something else will work better. If you can get to 5% bf on 500 grams of carbs a day, then more power too you, keep doing it. While I feel my dietary ideals are going to be pretty close to ideal for ALOT of people, who's to say for certain? Not I. That's why we try new things, experiment, research and keep an open mind to new ideas, if they have reasonable science to back them. I for one am very turned off by these gurus who say only their ideas are right, and anyone who doesn't follow their exact diet and training methods is a total idiot and will not make progress. If I come across that way, ever, please tell me and I'll be the first to apologize and admit that I certainly do not believe that way. Props to both of you guys.

you've gained LBM on 5ks of nothing but fats and protein? i find that hard to believe. do you have any pics?

Hey, maybe Coleman, Arnold, Priest, Cutler Etc. don't eat any carbs either. They just say they eat a ton to fake the other ones out???? Kidding, but all fat and protein is DEFINATELY not in the majority....too each his own though......hell, if dog shit works, eat it!
 
ummm , if you eat 5000 calories of anything you will put on mass. This whole topic has been bet to death around here the last week or so, but, if I ate 5000 cals of steak everyday do you think I would put on mass?
 
ahem. let me rephrase my question. you did not put on any BF on 5000calories a day?
 
yeh, everybody's different.............whatever BBF is doing, it looks like it works damn well for him!!!!!
