$300 Airport customs fine

DAMN, mom and sis are traveling to the US today to visit us for a few weeks, they decided to bring us some traditional CR food, all is cooked but some stuff has portions of cooked meat, upon going to customs they checked they had no food to declare, apparently mom though that applied only for like raw fruits and vegetables and she had no raw food, she was selected to have her bag checked and they found the food, between opting to destroy it or fining her they just decided to fine her, didnt even give her a chance to destroy, thanks to this she missed her connection from Ft Lauderdale to Orlando... what a fucking mess...

I've taken foods including cooked meat onto an airplane before, but I've always eaten it all during the flight.

She thought it would be nice to bring me a traditional CR holiday food called Tamal, it has just a small piece of pork in it... they are cooked and then frozen (yo thaw and microwave to eat them) but you can see what they contain just by looking at them...

I guess that's what she gets for thinking I miss CR ironically my father in law came 2 weeks ago in that same airline same time, same airport and he also had those damn things and he didnt have an issue.... sucks...

Sounds mean, but these guys have heard every excuse in the book - legit or not. Hence why they don't care.
