30 days for a response…

So 2 weeks ago I left my flat iron out at the gym. I was rushing out for a morning meeting. (Dumb ass me.) Another lady at the gym who sees me every morning was nice enough to take it down to the front desk and say “hey this belongs to D I believe she come in at night can you make sure she gets it.” Come back that night work out etc and don’t even notice that it is missing. (Also dumb ass me.)
Next morning working out and up nice lady comes and says “hey that flat iron with baby bliss pro on it that is yours right.”
Me “yeah.”
Her “oh I gave it to the front desk to give back to you I knew you come back in at night.”
Me “OMG THANK YOU!!”

After work out go down to the front desk. Hey my flat iron was handed in yesterday girl was like yeah let me grab it looks in cabinet it is not there. Oh the must have taken it to maintenance for the lost and found they don’t come in tell 8 call in we will get them to put it back at the front desk for you. Call and they find it and put it at the front desk. Come in that night. They ask me to describe it. Which I do in great detail. Girl looks confused she has some piece of crap Wal-Mart special. I was like umm no mine is a $150 salon flat iron that is not mine. Get the run around for two more days. Then talk to GM say look there is a security camera above your front desk check it. The flat iron was hand in to your staffs position is now there responsibility to get it back to me or reimburse me for it if they gave it to the wrong person. Ok we will check the surveillance cam and get back to you tomorrow. No call the next day. So I called the day after that. No call again. So I called again 2 days later. No call again. I called her on Monday and nothing. So today I called Bally head office to get her district supervisor and call them. I get there customer support give them the story and they tell me the supervisor will be in touch with me but it could take up to 30 DAYS WTF???

don't pay your dues til it shows up or claim that the theft of the iron covers your dues....or just send me booty pics so i'll feel better about the whole thing.

To make yourself feel better, discreetly vandalize their stuff until you've done at least $150 worth of damage.

that's bs no doubt. One of those bitches that works the front desk knew a really good straightening iron when she saw it, and she fucking stole it. No doubt mgnt realizes this too, and they're avoiding you. It's time to stop calling and go in personally and speak to the general manager. Be a giant PITA until they replace it.

I spoke to the GM she was all nice and shit on the phone but yeah going to find out her schedual for next week and go in the bitch her out. I bought another on not as good. If I actually get my money back I will by the orinal one. I didn't even pay for that one actually my Mom did was a birthday gift.

Totally Sucks!! You have a witness to support it was turned in. They need to pay you the total amount!

Yup that is what pisses me off so much. When I told the lady who handed it in what happend she felt bad cause she thought for a split second willl this get back to her. She was pretty sure it would the gym knows me well enough to know I am in twice a day. She did do the right thing handing it in the gym fucked up. What kind of response is 30 days for a complaint in my business I wouldn't have a fucking customer if I waited 30 days to respond to a complaint.
 
That sucks! That is total BS! If someone stole my Chi flat iron I would kill them. I can't live without the thing.

I once left an expensive sweater in the library when I was in college. I couldn't remember where I left it and finally remembered about a week or two later. When I went to retrieve it, the girl said she had it at home and was pretty pissed that she had to give it back to me. People suck, sometimes!

Doing a face-to-face is always the better way to get action. I'd be polite, but firm. Let her know that Jane Doe (name the member) told you she gave it to front desk staff Joan (name the staff person too) and that Joan confirmed she'd received your item. You understand that mgnt is not responsible for lost items, but staff confirmed this item was in the secured posession of the club's mgnt, which now means that it's the club that lost your item. It was found, and they lost it. That means they're liable for replacing it. I do the meet and follow up with a registered letter to the GM recapping the discussion. If she ignores you still, I'd take it to the regional mgnt. That's $150 of your property they lost.

As a regular member who obviously makes the club look good, they should be more than willing to accomodate you. If I was manger, even if I didn't agree, I would pay up. It's not like you're some casual user who comes in to take up space & use shower water.

Eventually she'll probably get $150 reduction in fees or something comparable since I suspect her straightening iron is now sitting on some other girl's dresser.

Prolly. My wife just got a good one from her Stylist (not safe for home use, LOL) & loves it.

yep. employees generally dont give stuff back when theres a chance that the company will pay for the replacement - which they will so long as you dont let it go.
