i know a dude who does this every sunday.. he doesn't eat anything except some lettuce and drinks water all day. he benches 85 pounds btw, and i'm not making fun of him just telling you reality.
its more of a old wives tale that it cleanses you out IMO. back in the old days they used to drink alcohol because water wasn't sanitized and it was dirty (hell still to this day millions of people do not have clean water) so they would fast to cleanse out their liver.
today unless you have a poor diet and are an alcoholic it just isn't necessary IMHO. i had a debate about this with a muslim friend at work who tried to convince me to fast. i explained to him that i was bodybuilding and fasting would be extremely catabolic.. keep in mind the guy is 6 feet tall and weighs probably 135 pounds soaking wet. told him he needs to go on TRT or something, he is skin and bones lol.. thats not the look I am going for.
but hey if you guys believe in fasting then go ahead, I'm not gonna try and convince you otherwise. but for me when I eat well, sleep well, is when i kill it in the gym. if i don't eat enough I am weak at the gym.
want to cleanse yourself out? drink some organic sleepytime tea before bed, and some watermelon/citrus. you will be pissing 5X during the night and wake up with a flat stomach.. you don't need to fast for 3 days to get a nice cleanse
