I have never tried this.
225lbs x 30 reps is certainly impressive!

sinjinsmythe33 said:i could be wrong but if you do mostly heavy, low rep work , i dont know it will make a huge difference in how many reps you get with a moderate poundage. i suppose this is a matter of you get what you train for. i remember an interview with marion jones and a reporter asked her how fast she could run a mile. she responded by saying, she rarely runs that distance, her time in the mile would not be impressive. maybe thats a poor analogy, but its almost 2 am here and my stomach is still queasy!!

Bro, that is the absolute truth, and an excellent post. Case in point..I used to train with a kid named Angelo Poulich. He is a local powerlifter, a young kid, with TONS of potential. He is around #1800+ total now, and is only like 22 I believe. Anyhow, he was squatting 675(I think--it was 6 somethingerather) at the time for a deuce, but could only get #315 for like 7-8 after that on a burnout set. Flip-side of the coin, I was only doing 5 bills for a double, and could get #315 for like 25 reps on my burnout set. We would always do a burnout set at the end of all heavy basics lifts. He however was new to adding that set, where as I had always added the burnout set at the end of my bench, squat, and deadlift routines. So your point is definitely valid brother. Although he was way stronger than me, and could handle TONS more weight, I was doubling his rep output on #315 because of my having trained with that type of routine previously.
