Nice engine compartment shot. One thing about Corvette; they’ve always made sure the engine compartment looks nice and clean.

Well let’s see. Being a C5 owner I think the only thing they screwed up on is the side. I like the hood. I like the front look. I also like the rear end. I just don’t like the sharp edges on the side. Looks too futuristic. I like softer lines.

Here’s a side by side C5/C6 wind tunnel shot:

guido mobile.

i'd drive one.

except i dunno why they always have to give the vettes the ugliest steering wheel in the history of cars. that thing looks like it was taken straight out of a late 80s turbo thunderbird.

LOL! Come on Chef. Yes, it used to be that, but the C5/C6 is a world class sports car. As usual, you crack me up though. Yeah the seventies Corvette, Crager wheels, open shirt with gold chains. LOL!

I like the sharper lines down the door.

Gives it a more aggresive look.

I also like the new headlights. Has to be more aerodynamic than the pop ups they have used for the last 41 years.

To each their own.

I haven’t read the new specs, but the C5 was already one of the slipperiest cars on the market with a Coefficient of Drag (cd) of 0.29 0.33 0.31. Even though they upped the horsepower, GM is smart enough to know that weight reduction and CD are just as important. I’m sure the C6 will top the C5 in many technical and performance aspects.

Its butta.... fuggedaboutit.

400 hp from a Chevy 350 isn't very much. It should be making at least 500 naturally aspirated.
It’s not the same as the old iron block 350. They both are pushrod V8’s, but that about the only similarity. It even has a different firing order. The LS1 and LS6 are aluminum block 348ci. Still, I know what you are saying, but you have to consider that they’re getting that 400hp while avoiding the gas guzzler tax. That’s 400hp with 19 mpg. city and 28 mpg. highway. That’s an amazing engineering accomplishment!

You ain’t shittin’, bro. The LS1/6’s low end torque is monstrous. I like cruising along at around 2100-2300 rpms. At that rpm range when you mash the pedal it becomes frenetically violent. Freaks out passengers who have never ridden in a car with such enormous low end torque.
