2 Questions, RE: Lesnar vs Herring

1) Do you think Brock will beat Heath tonight?

2) Is there/will there be a bookie event?
 
This is definitely a tough one to call. On one hand, I really want Brock to do well as he is in dire need of a win. If he loses, Dana will have no choice but to start lowering the talent pool available for Brock's matches. Brock told Dana that he wanted to fight tough competition but if he loses, he'll have to comes to terms with the fact that he just isn't ready for such high level competition.

Heath has one of the hardest punches in MMA. Big Nog said he had never been hit as hard as he was hit by Heath and that's even factoring in Nog's fight against Fedor. Heath though, hasn't been much to look at lately and I really don't know whether or not he can whether the utter onslaught of Brock's viciousness. Heath doesn't have near the talent on the ground that Mir does and if or I should say when Brock gets him to the ground, the fight could end rather quickly.

On the other hand, this may be the first fight where Brock's chin is severely tested. This is the other gray area in Brock's arsenal. If his chin tests to be good against such a hard striker as Heath, I really don't see him standing a chance against Brock.

I still think that once Brock becomes an elite level fighter, he will be unstoppable. His level of strength, athleticism, speed, and all around conditioning is beyond any MMA fighter to this day. The big question will be can he keep his motivation up even if he loses against Heath and is relegated to a lower talent pool.

I, for one, hope he does

If they make a bookie event I'm going to bet the farm the Lesnar, the underdog.
 
I'm hoping that Brock comes out on top. I like Heath, but Brock needs a win and people need to believe in superheros.

Lesnar was originally supposed to fight Mark Coleman but Coleman suffered a knee injury and was replaced by Herring.
 
I had tickets to the event, but bowed out and decided not to make the 300 mile trip to pay $160 for seats that offers a lesser view than you can see from my tv.

I definitely want Brock to win. He needs the win. i have met hom on several occasions and he truely is a nice guy. He's also my ex's cousin.

Hard for Herring to beat a guy with that much of a weight advantage over him. Lesner is one BIG mofo.

If Lesner fights Kimbo you know the UFC has sold out....

(and Joe Rogan is kind of annoying)
 
Brock did a good job. He fought his fight. Took him down and used that wrestling base and his power to control. It was that jab that stunned and took heath out of his game plan. I'm still not sold on brock though. I want to see how he reacts to getting hit on the chin. I can see another Tito in him. If he can't get you down and you make him strike he will shit bricks. Just a big brute with good ground control.

Damn I don't think he's even good enough or proven himself yet to be compared to Tito!!
 
The fact that Herring lasted the whole way shows the pendulum effect of how patient Brock has become. He's gone from excitably vicious to cold & calculatingly ruthless.

He's realized it doesn't matter how, he just needs the 'W.'

Once he's won some more, he can start going for style points. He's also very cautious when they're standing up. I guess cos Herring has rocks for hands.

I wonder if he'd been this patient with Mir if the result would have been different?

I am a Kimbo fan but I agree, Brock would literally wipe the floor with him. Kimbo would gas in like 2 minutes.
