2" Bar Snatch Shrugs

I have found my new friend last week and I feel like I should let all of you know about it.

2" bar snatch shrugs. I am mixing them into my routine 3 times a week no questions asked until I am happy withmy progress......Could that actually ever happen?......lol

Monday - Heavy for 1-5 reps

Wednesday - Light for 15-20 reps

Friday - Moderate for 8-12 reps

I have a slight rhomboid/trapezius imbalance and I really think this exercise will give me the boost that I need. When I am able to go back to strongman training I will be a hella' lot stronger where I need it the most.

For those that do not know what this exercise is and it's specifics;

2" bar = 2 inch thick bar

Snatch Shrugs = using a "snatch grip" which is a double overhand grip onto the thick bar. The hand placement is as wide as possible. I have my hands actually touching the cupling that separates the 2" bar to the 1.5" converter.

Cuplings = plumbing supplies that attatch one piece of pipe to another without the need for solder.

ROM = Straight up and straight down. No roll back or any non sense.

You must spread your Karma around before giving it to MsBeverlyHills again.

PH, ever tried these kelso style to hit the rhomboids harder? Like from a bent over row position (staight up and down)?

Yes. Those were handed down to me from pops. I learned those at an early age but for some reason they aren't working like they should. I thought that I was performing them wrong but after video analysis I saw that my form was correct.

Incline shrugs work better for me through the test of time. Excellent suggestion however. Kelso shrugs are a solid tool for the rhomboids!!!!

People tell me all the time that I am thick...strange. Wait...Cheese told me this the other day....ahhhhh

How do you like the thick bar work PH? I used the thick bar for clean and press tonight...gonna keep it in my routine I think...at least for some light power cleans weekly.

I enjoy thick bar work VERY much. It gives my hands and forearms a solid workout.

I have had 2" bar work in my routine as a regular staple for a long time now. I would estimate about 6 months.

Tec was telling me how much you love that thick bar. I hear you even do your curls with it, lol.

I do reverse curls with my 2 3/8" bar and my 3" bar...love them:)
