im 16 im going from football to powerlifting right now. Just want to know wat yall think about my stats. My first meet is in January and i know i need to improve alot but what do yall think rite now.

Weight: 192
Bench: 220
Squat: 390
Deadlift: 405
Power Clean: 215

My coach has me going on a hardcore training program right now so hopefully i can bump up my maxes alot. ill keep yall posted if n e bodys interested.

Great for you! Looks like you're on your way. At 17 and playing sports - its hard to fit in time to train the lifts for a PL meet. Your numbers are good for your age. You didn't say how long you had been training or what training methods you've used, but if your making gains - keep doing what you're doing! Good luck on your meet, take care. :)

well thanx for the good luck i appreciate it. Ive been training hard since age 14 and believe me when i first started i was nothing. My lower body has always been stronger and my bench needs a big improvement. i use a couple supplements like NO2, creatine, protein, glutamine, and the ol' good multi vitamins and minerals. My coach has got me coming before school doing 5x6 on the first week then 6x5 the next, 7x4 and so on. the last week then start back with 5x6. And then during school i have off-season football witch is a bitch. So if i keep it up like i am i should be good and ready for January's meet.

I think you're doing great. You just started, so you have a lot to learn. keep an open mind and remember there isn't always one right answer. Make sure you get plenty of protein, water, and sleep.

Remember- the meet is for you to learn, not to win.

oh ya sleep. i dont get much of it. my coach lets me either work out in the morning before or after school. i have been going before because after school first thing i want to do is go home. but wakin up early sux. if sleep is that important i should probably go to the after school practice huh.

Ya my legs have always been my strong part. i think becuz in middle school i was like the only one that actually did squats. every1 else wanted to do bench. But i notice in football my strong legs really benefit me more at my position as a running back/full back. Thanx for all ur support guys ill let u know how my first meet goes if n e ones interested.

i really need advice on maybe workin out to much. Its not good i know that. but im in off season football and powerliftin practice and both r very intense. my coach warns us about over lifting but then turns around and wants me to lift 3x a day. so as long as n e body thinks they could tell me if this workout schedule im on is too much then i can post everything for u. but if nobody is then it is a big waste of time to type. but please even if ur not sure n are just interested then i will post it. its very effective.
Thanx u guys

No doubt man, great stats for your size. I also am 16 and play football. we are in weight training, but i cant do overhead lifts becaude i tore my Labrium (a shoulder something) and have to have surgery, but i still lift and believe it or not my stats are increasing even with an injury..

Weight: 265
Bench: 305
Squat: 450
Deadlift: N/A
Power Clean: 270

as u can tell im no running back, actually OL/DL and made the all west tennessee team. run a 5.1 40yrd dash if that says anything at all

yea i play HS ball in oklahoma and will be playing at rice next year by scholarship and my stats are as follows:

Height: 6'5''
Weight: 274
Bench: 335
Squat: 505 (on a good day)
didnt max dead lift or cleans
Supplements: 1-AD, methyl volume, methyl masterdrol, and creatine/protein
5.6 forty (right tackle)

I agree with the help tips above. Good luck on your lifting and never give up. Train hard but don't over train to fatigue your muscles, get adequate rest, supplement if you need to (whey protein), and beat your opponents. I am a 17 yr. old OL/DL football player. I train at least two times a day for about an hour. I do upper one day, lower the next, cardio/plyometrics every wednesday, then resume lifting schedule.
My Stats:
315 lbs.
Squat: 550
Bench: 340
Clean: 250
DL: 410
40 yd: 5.3 seconds
