15 kids

there's a show on tv about a family with 14 kids and 1 on the way.
they are showing how they manage things, etc. SO, the family is now shopping for groceries. she had to take out the seats of her minivan and take 8 of her kids to help because she's estimating she'll be buying 5 shopping carts of food. she buys everything by the case. turned out to be $828 worth of groceries.
the mom keeps a huge master schedule of what kids do what and when.
the mom wants to just keep having kids till she can't anymore.
its making me tired.

oh HELL no....

the oldest is 15. they have like ONE closet for all of them- they just take whatever is available and fits. it looks like alot of the girls dresses were hand made, probably the boys clothes too.
they buy everything used and... have NO debt. i'd hate to be their oldest boy- he's like a father already.

I know someone with 12 or 13 kids, I lose count. She`s always pregnant. Never seen her not pregnant for years and years. lol Her religion, they don`t believe in Birth Control or something. Not sure what it is. They`re all beautiful, smart kids, into sports and doing very well. I give them credit. The father has 3 or 4 jobs. Poor guy.

^^^that type of behaviour really scares me. :worried:

I wonder if she's considering how much of a beating her vagina is taking by all that stretching, relaxing and constricting. :eek2:

Even if the family can afford to support the kids financially, I don't understand why anyone would do this.

Women are a trip.

oh, i just saw... she friggin' HOME schools.
she does the lesson plans, teaches them each two instruments, has field trips, etc.
the kids are all adorable. they just showed their future new home- they are building it themselves, so the girls have had to take up some of the boys chores, since you can imagine the amount of laundry, cooking, and cleaning a family of 17 needs.
yes, they are christian. or something- all the girls have long hair and they are all buttoned up.
you wouldn't wanna see my house/life if i had 15 kids. lol

I think you would go insane with 15 kids, Sugarplum.

Seriously, your short-term memory would get worse and you'd start getting flashbacks like PTSD.

I guess she's doing it the right way, having the kids change each others diapers and being self-sufficient. Still that really takes the term "self-taught" to a whole 'nother level, when the kids are being raised by each other as much if not more than their mother.

People are strange.

I think I saw this some months back. If it's the same show, they are mormons living in either New Mexico or Arizona. In a tiny town that is completely Mormon ran. Everyone there lived the same way. The wife wasn't that old either. The entire city receives federal aid. In fact I remember the woman who ran the show saying that this city receives the most federal aid out of any cities in the nation. It was crazy!

they are in little rock, arkansas.
the father owns a used car lot and sells real estate, plus he is building a huge house for them (how they even afford to build it or the land is beyond me). they drive a van (like one of those big church vans) and.. a BUS.
The 15 year old boy said he doesn't really want to "date"... he wants to find a "life partner".
they asked the girls what they wanna be when they grow up and they mostly said "a mom. i wanna have as many kids and god gives me."

I think I remember that, I believe they live in between the Arizona/Utah border and yes they are their own "society".

There are many Mormons in the area of Phoenix I live in, and they are a trip.

They are as close to a cult as there is in organized religion.

Each of my grandmothers birthed 11 kids, 9 that survived on each side.

It isnt that uncommon, although in our self actualizing culture that kind of sacrificxe is mocked and ridiculed

I saw part of that show today as well.

The mom named all 14 of her kids starting with the letter "J". lol Almost all the kids are one year apart and they have two sets of twins.

The dad has a car lot and they also do real estate. It seems like they do pretty well because money is not an issue for them at all.

Each kid has a laundry basket and they have around 3-5 washers it looked like lol. They also have around 6 computers or so all lined up together for the kids to do their schoolwork. It looked like a library. lol

Amazing thing was the kids all seemed very well behaved and disciplined, so got to give the mom her respect.

JA... I find it admirable to raise that many kids. Many who do it simply can't afford it though. How many people can afford to put 12 kids through good schools and get them good medical and dental and a nice vacation every year?

Most people who can afford that, dont have the time... theyd compromise their job too much

in 20 years, when all those kids are moved out, the parents will have a hard time adjusting i bet.

that woman must have patience of a saint.
takes care of all of them, she's their school teacher, their sunday school teacher, mom to 15- she's got kids still in diapers, she organizes like MAD, has no debt, looks like she sews their clothes, AND... she obviously still has sex.
although, by the looks of them... i'm guessing thats not a wild kinda thing.

Did the lady ever mention her age because she looked pretty young, around mid-30's.

It's all perspective and expectations. All my uncles and aunts turned out fine and did well for themseleves.

One thing I do notice though is how much they all adore their parents. But it was a different time
