I dont like how he says his base is karate when the only loose affiliation he shows is the gi he wears to the ring and his stance.

He uses no techniques unique to karate in the octogon.

There's some subtle things that are apparent from karate in his combat techniques. His stance is one.

Though, truly, the kicks and punches that are practical from karate are also used in muay thai, etc.

I have yet to see someone land a hatchet kick to the face, lol.
