10x10 Deads

Second week on 10X10 deads these things are beating the hell out of me... but I love em......and wish I knew about em when I was a nautilus newbie!!!!

I was wondering if on back day if these and bent over dumb rows are enough.... After I finish my last set I feel like pukin:bawling:

How long should I keep this routine....two months or so and should I incorporate any other exercises on back day??

10 sets of deads ... wow, how long does it take you to get them done? Do you use the same weight for all sets? What percentage of your 1RM are you using for them?

I have done 5 sets of 10 before...and puked. I think that German Volume training can be taken to an extreme...this may be one of the times.

I think you may burn out on these pretty soon, that is a lot of work bro...may be overkill...

I'm really not a fan of GVT. I do however consider it an extremely effective program.

Before you all attack me, lol, I consider it effective because it does a good job of accomplishing its goal. The stated goal of GVT is NOT MUSCULAR HYPERTROPHY; it is to improve muscular endurance in the range of 10 reps. At that it does quite well, but don't expect to grow much.

I got incredible results the first time I did GVT... but I never got any good results the next couple times I tried it.

GVT seems to be something you can only do once... or maybe once every several years.

Impressive workout. I hope it helps you accomplish your goals. GVT can be pretty bad-ass, but 10x10 with Deads is still hard as Hell. Squats alone are tough as it is with GVT. Deads must be another animal entirely.

That has to invite injury with that many sets of 10 on deadlifts imo.

Is it enough...well, it kind of has to be...I can't imagine doing much useful lifting after 100 deads. Maybe alternate between 10X10 deads and a more complete back routine every other back day.

As for how long to keep the routine...I personally think it's beneficial to change things up every couple months...maybe even sooner for something extreme like this. It sounds like something you throw in for a few weeks every now and then for a "shock".

What are you looking to accomplish with this routine? Size, definition, endurance? Let us know how it goes...
