also, l-carnitine l-tartrate upregulate androgen receptors (dont know if the more widely available l-carnitine or acetyl-l-carnitine forms do the same)

PURPOSE: The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effects of 3 wk of L-carnitine L-tartrate (LCLT) supplementation and post-resistance-exercise (RE) feeding on hormonal and androgen receptor (AR) responses. METHODS: Ten resistance-trained men (mean+/-SD: age, 22+/-1 yr; mass, 86.3+/-15.3 kg; height, 181+/-11 cm) supplemented with LCLT (equivalent to 2 g of L-carnitine per day) or placebo (PL) for 21 d, provided muscle biopsies for AR determinations, then performed two RE protocols: one followed by water intake, and one followed by feeding (8 kcal.kg body mass, consisting of 56% carbohydrate, 16% protein, and 28% fat). RE protocols were randomized and included serial blood draws and a 1-h post-RE biopsy. After a 7-d washout period, subjects crossed over, and all experimental procedures were repeated. RESULTS: LCLT supplementation upregulated (P<0.05) preexercise AR content compared with PL (12.9+/-5.9 vs 11.2+/-4.0 au, respectively). RE increased (P<0.05) AR content compared with pre-RE values in the PL trial only. Post-RE feeding significantly increased AR content compared with baseline and water trials for both LCLT and PL. Serum total testosterone concentrations were suppressed (P<0.05) during feeding trials with respect to corresponding water and pre-RE values. Luteinizing hormone demonstrated subtle, yet significant changes in response to feeding and LCLT. CONCLUSION: In summary, these data demonstrated that: 1) feeding after RE increased AR content, which may result in increased testosterone uptake, and thus enhanced luteinizing hormone secretion via feedback mechanisms; and 2) LCLT supplementation upregulated AR content, which may promote recovery from RE.

yup, I've read summaries/extracts of studys in the muscle rags (havent read the actual studies) that indicate contrary to popular opinion androgen receptors UPregulate in the presense of extra AAS.

any excercize methods that induce hyperplasia will lead to new muscle cells that will of course have AR's to soak up more joooose

but past some genetically determined point, I would think that you've about maxed your receptor density, and once they are saturated and you're wasting money

All in all, what you are saying is there is a point in each individual where you're body can't absorb any more juice?

yes, theres things you can do to expand your capacity to utilize increased amounts of AAS, but at some point you cant make use of additional AAS until you further increase muscle cells or receptor density

that threshhold is far above what we're talking here

btw #2, anecdotally (and from personal experience), independent of factors above, taking proviron which competes with test for SHBG binding will increase utilization of test (and maybe dbol)

Interesting... what exactly could you do to expand your capacity?

to me i didn't notice a difference of gains between 400mg-750mg. it wasn't until i hit a G that i noticed a big difference. but honestly, if i could go back and change things...i would have never gone above 500mg.

as mentioned above, hyperplasia and l-carnitine l-tartrate

--hyperplasia oriented training methods and supplements will have to wait for another day and thread (search for my username and hyperplasia)

I realy doubt anybody knows how exactly all of the dosages/bw ratios really work. It is so different for everybody. We can only speculate.
just from these answers everybody gave I can't conclude anything besides to just take the stuff and figure it out as you go along :)

when doing some research ive ran across some sites saying that the average dosages of test range from 250mg to 1000mgs

is that even safe?

the 1000mg tange would be for a well seasoned experienced user IMO
