1 Rep max

How often do you perform a 1 RM ?

It was around 4x a week. Beast Lifts (partial or full), Deadlifts (partial or full) 1RM attempts on Back day (monday), Flat bench 1RM (thursday), and Incline bench 1RM on sunday. Sometimes I may drop a max attempt, but am pretty consistent. My training will be different until I recover from my back injury fully though. For my benching days, the focus rotates. For example, one month I may focus strictly on Rep PR's, then after Im done doing all I can with the reps (PR wise) I will attempt a 1RM. Obviously it is greatly sacrificed since my focus that day is reps. Then the following week I may focus on One rep maxing as my sole purpose. I will warm-up minimally and attempt 1RM. Sometimes many attempts, just as any other day, difference is Im not pre exhausted nearly as much. Then after Im done attempting 1RM, I will rep out, since reps are my secondary focus that month. So I train reps and 1RM everytime I do chest for the most part. Just cycle the order and focus around.

almost never now, I have no need for a 1max rep attempt. Unless beginning a new training cycle or going to comp I think it is wastfuls on the CNS and the injury it that might occur

maybe once a year. probably less

same here, I'm a bodybuilder anyway, and the single maxes are just too risky for me

singles are risky, if you are shaky with your form, or have weak stabilizers. if you train both extensively, should be no problem.

I do singles pretty often, but they're not maxes. I test maxes at the end of every 3-4 months, and then use those numbers to determine appropriate loading for the next workout plan.
