Interesting. I heard this about DaJuan Wagner last year though. It's crazy when people are 16 and being told they'll be the best ever. Better than Jordan, better than Iverson, better than Kobe.

I remember when everyone would be "the next Jordan" out of college and they'd end up failing and being hurt because of all of the comparisons. Now kids are going through puberty and being compared to the best ever.

That's a shame.

Harold Minor's nickname at USC was "Baby Jordan" and other than winning a Slam Dunk Contest, his short career was pretty forgettable.

I think the Illini's Williams, Maryland's J. Dixon, and Gardner for Arizona (maybe) will be as good or better pros than J. Williams. Also, I think #1 picks will be mostly out of HS or overseas from now on, unless someone like Tim Duncan comes along again.

Williams is the best player. He should be the #1 pick, and i expect him to be. Hes incredible. One of the best college players i've seen in 10 years. He is a men among boys and its clear every game. Its basically not fair.

As far as all the young, you can't dispute that kobe is the best of any to come out early, and while we are on the topic, he is the best player in the nba in my opinion, and has been the past couple of years. He is well rounded, clutch, and can't be stopped if he chooses. Who in the league is better? Arguments for McGrady can maybe hold up, but hes not on Bryant's level. 2 rings. Bryant will end his career, barring no significant injuries, the best player to play in the league if he continues on his path he is on now.

Kobe has been clutch in the finals and taken over a couple of games by himself with or without shaq. Rarely is kobe ever open also. It is give and take. No one can win a title by themself. Together they basically are unstoppable. That should take nothing away from kobe.

First off, to anyone who thinks the lakers would have won even ONE championship without Shaq, you're kidding yourselves. Even when shaq doesn't have a big game in terms of scoring, his mere presence on the court virtually assures a win everytime the rest of the team shows up to play. Man, alot of teams complained about Jordan getting biased calls......but you even look at Shaq sideways you get a foul. He sure is babied for a 7ft 300+ lber, and he whines like a BBBitch when he doesn't get his usual piss ant calls. Kobe is a great player, no doubt....but without Shaq he'd be just like Vince Carter.

and the kid "I think" everyone is talking about is Lebron James.....he's plays for St.V here in my hometown. I went to see him play, he's gifted no doubt.....but I think he's making a mistake in not going to college. Now I don't want to rank on the kid too hard, but my best friends brother goes to St.V and it's known there that Lebron is not just dumb, but retarded dumb. He takes classes with honest to god retards. This tells me that the kid has been fed his whole life that he doesn't need anything except sports. He really needs a college with a coach that is going to get him to make some academic commitment. I'm really going to feel bad for this kid if his knee blows out or something, because he will not be in any condition to do anything else in society except be a bag boy.
