  1. 365 for 8 sets of 2 with a purple band on the (ssbar) red bar, pretty hard.
  2. 4 sets 12 reps reverse hypers
  3. 3 sets 10 reps (75lbs)weighted decline situps
    [/list=1] The red bar is a mother, pulled on Monday so I felt a little drained.Might pull again on Monday so I better eat my Wheaties.
 
I have read about you guys using the SS Bar for Dynamic work. What do you think of it...or was this your first week of the cycle? do you have to adjust your weight because the bar is such a bitch or do you use the same percentage as you would with a normal bar?
 
We've been using it for a few weeks, it's giving our shoulders a break also from the bands. It's my weakest bar or was, I have been pr'ing alot of back work so have to say it's doing well, we change the set/band/ chain scheme weekly to keep things fresh. There is no way I could use the same weight and bands from a circa max phase-way to hard with this bar. It has made me stronger by hitting my weak points-so it works for me pretty well.
 
yeah the red bar is no peice of cake, friday was tough, but i think it will help me alot, i think im ay use it for a another week or two. after that i think i need to get back under the squat bar with some bands heading into the mext meet.
 
When you say the RED bar is that a different type of ss bar. I know there are two differnet "cuts" i guess, a normal and the one louie came up with that was harder. Which one is the red bar?
Which one would you recomend buying?
 
The red bar is a modified safety squat bar lou concocted, I'm not aware if they sell it tho-if they do get it ist's the hardest bar we have-kickes everybody's ass.
 
Sorry can't say it's an ancient chinese secret........ok I guess lol lou changed the camber of the bar so it forces you to lean forward more (I think) Really hits your upper back-usually if you never have used it it feels like it pushes your head down and sorta hurts your neck.
 
Dave used to sell it....it was a SSBar with a "Westside Cut". It's not listed on the website any more...if you email Dave you might be able to get one.

DBCooper or LiftB...using the SS Bar for Dynamic Work did you have to lower the percentage or reduce the band tension from your reg. band phase? How have you been "switching things up". Any rhyme or reason...or just what you guys decide on when you get to the gym?

Would this be a good idea to use for someone who's weakness is ab stength and tend to get stuck when they lean foward because of that reason(?).

Seems like it would make you have to overcompensate for this reason to complete your lift, right?

ive squatted with the red bar twice on de day so far, the first time i did 15x2 w/ 315. last friday i did 8x2 w/315 and a purple band and it was tough, very tough if you do it youll have to use alot less bands they pull you down so much along with the way the bar pulls you forward so the bands just amplify it.

i think db has just been varying the weights and sets, and this last week added the purple bands.

if your not getting ready for meet and have the bar give it a try for a few weeks, id start with no chains or bands though .
 
Heavy weighted ab work will strengthen your abs, are you sure it's not your lower back failing? We really gotta lower the weight for speed day like Liftbig said, it seems to be really getting our back strong too. W were trying to build up gpp and hit our weak spots at the same time so we used the hardest bar in the gym.

Oh yea, those chains need to be ordered by 100 ft drums...
