05' GSXR 1000 Dyno'd at 165hp, I think I need One.

thanks Woot!!!...K for you...LOL
the Honda fits me the best...i feel lower to the ground and thats where im comfortable...the bike has a very low center of gravity which is what makes it handle so nicely...all bikes are cool IMO, you cant go wrong with any of them really...they all do more than we can dish out- so we choose what goes with our personalities and riding comfort levels.

It all comes down to what style bike you like and what fits you best. Some people are more comfortable on one as opposed to the other. The difference in power is practically non-existant. I seriously doubt 95% of the riders out there will notice an 8hp difference. The only thing anyone would notice is a difference in tq and hp peaks and trans gearing.
i agree Crak

You know crak, I think the only way you ever know what hp a bike is is to actually be there when they do the dyno. Even my chopper friends lie. Why, I have no idea it seems silly to me. My bourget has 101 hp and 113 lbs of torque. I know this because I had it dynoed once for jetting and another time I raced a crotch rocket on the dyno drag simulator. Same readings twice so I know they are real.

After riding with my daughter last night and almost crashing again because of some newbi that stops right in the middle of the road while we were doing the twistys then proceeds to go right making me miss by going off the road into the grass makes me really question some people's riding ability and their choice to ride with others until it improves. Plus if I get the 05' gsxr my daughter said she wants to start riding my 02 750. Heck, I even saw her sitting on it when I got home from work. After last night and with the thought of my daughter riding and the slipper clutch which concerns me on the bike's ability to be a good stunter makes me want to wait for a while.

If you don't want to spend the money on the 05 right now, take the 750 and have it hotrodded. Head ported and flowed, engine bored out, valve job, race spec cams, power commander (or if you have one, have it remapped for the engine work)...you could actually kick out some insane power on a bike that you're already used to. It's a thought...a few thousand to have the 750 beefed up or $10K to get a stock GSXR1000. Hell, you might be able to get the 750 to kick out the 1Ks hp & tq numbers with some mods.

Man, my 750 is already pretty fast. It has an arrow full exaust and power commander. I really like the bike I am getting very confortable on it on wheelies and on corners. I just kinda liked the looks of the new '05. I think I will keep mine until the 06' comes out so they get all the bugs out. It is never good to buy the first year of anything imo.

woot! im going tommarow to start the paperwork on my 05 600RR! This is my first bike! So no 1000cc engines for me over here. Honda is having a promotional special on the 05's, 39$ a month for 12 or 70$month for 24.

Cant wait to get out there and really getting into it. I love bikes too everyone i know owns one and im finally old enough to get one on my own.

Anyone know where to get good accessories? Helmet/Jacket/Rims Let me know. Thanks alot! (im going to jew the dealer into hooking me up lol)

Man, I was looking at some sportbike sites yesterday and the gsxr 1000 is ranked #1 in 05 for hp. I mean it is up there with the 1300 busa. But the weight/hp ratio is just insane. I wonder how it wheelies, since they balanced the weight out more for the track? I have heard some places are selling them for about 9800(which is a 1000 and change cheaper than MSRP) Guess I need to start hunting that deal. I really want a red and black one but I heard they only have yellow/black, charcoal/black and blue/white. I guess the blue and white would be the best for letting cages notice ya. But the salesman in houston must have been mistaken because he they make a red/black.

I sat on one in the suzuki tent in daytona it was awesome. The only thing I don't understand is they say they have a "slipper" clutch what the heck does that mean? I have always heard it feels like a 600 do to the redesigning. Think it is time to sell the cruiser.

I saw the thread and I didn't even have to look at the author to see who it was...I just knew it was curling. :)
